Polls

It appears that polls can have only one question?

Is each question a separate poll? Do members have to go to separate pages to respond or do the questions appear on one page?

You can have one poll with multiple choices for them.
But if it is a different topic altogether it has to be a separate poll.
?
Also I found out the hard way.
If anyone in your group is on Moderation, they cannot vote in the poll.?
The only members who can vote in a poll are those who have no restrictions in posting
in the group.? Leeni

Sorry, but that is simply not true. I didn't think it was, but I have done a quick test on Shal's test group and moderated members are perfectly able to vote in a poll.

The "major" hurdle to getting a properly representative result from a poll is that members cannot vote by email; voting can only be carried out via the web UI, and of course to use that members have to be logged in. As is generally recognised individual groups have a (large?) number of members who either cannot or will not log in to the web UI so their opinion on any polled question simply doesn't get included.

I'm sorry - I didn't test it for moderated members.
?
Most of my members couldn't vote because they didn't have posting privileges in the group. That is what it was.
?
I ran a poll in my tagging group.?Only the taggers could share in the group.
They made tag offers for signature tags.
?
The regular members only requested tags and replies went to the sender.
They couldn't post to the group and therefore couldn't vote in the poll. ?

This makes no sense.? If they (or the group) aren't moderated, they can post.

In order to vote they need to be able to send messages to the group.
In my group?only the taggers can?send messages
That is a small amount of members. They were the only ones who could vote.
The main population of the group who cannot post to the group couldn't vote.
So the poll for me was useless in that situation.

I realized what is happening on your group.? You have members that are set to "Override: not allowed to post"? To me, this is a form of moderation, so we're both right, just from a different point of view. ;>)

I wonder how many others would put that interpretation on it. If someone was to say "all my members are moderated" I would take it to mean that they can post once a moderator has established that any given message doesn't contain anything inappropriate; I would not take it to mean that the members were all set to Override: not allowed to post.

If we use commonplace terminology then it is reasonable to assume that a commonplace meaning will be assigned to it by those who read it. It is not, IMHO, reasonable to assume that readers will elasticate the terminology to mean something that it doesn't actually say, e.g.

Moderated = Moderated.
Moderated ≠ Override: not allowed to post

BTW what are "tagged members"? And what is a "tagging group"?

No, my members aren't moderated in this one group.
They cannot post at all
If they post they get an undeliverable message
?
Only a handful of member's settings are set so they can post to the group.?Those are the members who are offering tags to the group.
?
A tagging group is a group where certain members offer to the group what is called a signature tag. They show the group what the tag looks like and then the members can request those tags from the person who is offering them. I can't show what one looks like because embedded images are stripped. But I will attach?a few?to show what they are.
?
They are used to sign off in emails. Or like a Good Morning Tag to say hello to either the group or someone you are writing to. It is graphic art and a hobby. Many members request Grandma Tags to use when they send emails to their grandchildren.
