Subject: [GMF] Polls ?
It appears that polls can have only one question?
?
Is each question a separate poll? Do members have to go to separate pages to respond or do the questions appear on one page?
?

Sorry, but that is simply not true. I didn't think it was, but I have done a quick test on Shal's test group and moderated members are perfectly able to vote in a poll. The "major" hurdle to getting a properly representative result from a poll is that members cannot vote by email; voting can only be carried out via the web UI, and of course to use that members have to be logged in. As is generally recognised individual groups have a (large?) number of members who either cannot or will not log in to the web UI so their opinion on any polled question simply doesn't get included. The only members who can vote in a poll are those who have no restrictions in posting The "major" hurdle to getting a properly representative result from a poll is that members cannot vote by email; voting can only be carried out via the web UI, and of course to use that members have to be logged in. Most of my members couldn't vote because they didn't have posting privileges in the group. Duane ? -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions ? |

If someone was to say "all my members are moderated" I would take it to mean that they can post once a moderator has established that any given message doesn't contain anything inappropriate; I would not take it to mean that the members were all set to Override: not allowed to post. If we use commonplace terminology then it is reasonable to assume that a commonplace meaning will be assigned to it by those who read it. It is not, IMHO, reasonable to assume that readers will elasticate the terminology to mean something that it doesn't actually say, e.g. Moderated = Moderated. Moderated ≠ Override: not allowed to post BTW what are "tagged members"? And what is a "tagging group"? Chris |
