If you go to your admin settings?- scroll down to message policies?and at the very bottom of that section all you need to do is?select as follows. Then when you run out of room the oldest attachments will automatically be deleted.? Leeni
?Out of Space? ?? ?? ?Delete Old Attachments? ?? ?? ?Bounce Messages?? ?? ?

What to do when the group is out of space.

I am indeed deleting topics which contain attachments. Those do work against my totals.

That sounds like an alternate way that works. Do you lose functionality as you run out of space? We have a cooperative where we schedule dates, add files and I was trying to be proactive to not run out of space.?
?
Can I indicate a storage amount less than my total to tell it to delete when it gets that full? So if 10 gb is all I am allotted can I say delete after we fill 5 gb?

I have no idea if you can tell it to delete after you reach X amount of space. But why would you even?have to?consider that. When you reach the limit it automatically will start deleting the attachments that is need to be deleted.

You don't lose any functionality -?because you really don't run out of space. The oldest attachments constantly get deleted when new ones come in.?You don't notice?that anything is going on. The groups works like normal.
?
That setting?prevents your group from running out of space.? Leeni

If you run out of space, file and photo uploads will be disabled. I don't know what is done with attachments to incoming emails.

There also appears to be some "grace storage." The people that I've helped with the "unable to upload" problem were usually up around 1.4 GB (instead of just 1 GB).

The setting Leeni mentioned is helpful...to a point. For example, I don't think that old attachments are deleted in real time as more space is needed (for example, as you attempt to upload a file or photo).

So there are some unknowns, at least on my end. If someone has actually tested these things please correct me if I'm mistaken.

No, but there is a notification setting in your member record ("Email me when group storage limits are reached"). If I understand correctly, this notice is sent when you reach 80% of quota, so you have time to remedy the situation before actually running out (see?).

But again, this is hearsay. If anyone has actually tested this, please confirm or correct.

Bruce

Hi Bruce,
. If I understand correctly, this notice is sent when you reach 80% of quota,
I tested this by loading 10GB of files into my premium plan and it did not work.? I received no notification at 80% or even 100% when the upload function became unavailable.? I reported this to support on 30-Jan-19 (ticket number 8261) but have had no response so far.

Regards,
Andy

I've had an update from Mark today on this. He confirmed that the notifications are not being sent but does not have an ETA for a fix.
