Emails displaying actual email address
When an email is sent to the group and then distributed to the mailing list the senders email is revealed. We have a few users that are hyper security conscious and would like to know if this can be disabled either on a by user or membership wide option. I'm not seeing anything in the settings for this.

There's no current way to do this.? It has been discussed extensively here and on the beta group.? About the only thing I can think of to minimize the possibility, for now, would be to use restricted membership for your group.? That would require that all memberships be approved, so it could help to weed out any possible spammers.

Correct. This is generally true of email lists.
As Duane said, there is not at present.
The only way a spammer sees the original header information is if the spammer is a member of the group and receives individual messages. Hence Duane's suggestion about restricting group membership. For messages stored in the group's Messages section the full headers (View Source) is not available to members (only moderators). The only time a member's email address is reveal is when another member quotes their message and the quote begins with a line identifying the sender of the original email. There is a group-level control for this: Hide Email Addresses In Archives. If you elect to mask email addresses in the archive they are displayed with the domain part replaced by "@...". Yea, I've done that to the archive, they were just hoping that there was something built into Groups that would hide outgoing email addresses. We've advised them to use a throwaway email account for the moment. Paul A. Grosse
