How long to transfer yahoo group

I invited [email protected]?to join my Yahoo group 6 days ago, but my invitation still has not been accepted. How long does it usually take for [email protected]?to accept my invitation?

The amount of time is quite variable.? Have a look at /g/GroupManagersForum/message/12641 to see how to verify the status.? You might also want to take a look at /g/GroupManagersForum/message/8697 to make sure you haven't done something out of order.

I am brand new at this and have just read the instructions on how to transfer your Yahoo group over to io groups.? My question is how do you get the Yahoo group ready for transferring as it says that one has to be ready before you start the transfer process.? Thank you.

There's nothing specific you need to do.? It means that you should let the members of the YG! know that the move is coming so it won't be a surprise to them when they get the email notification.? It's also a good time to make sure you don't have too much space being used on the YG! for files and photos so they can all be copied to the new group.

If you haven't already done so, please consider reading the section of the GMF wiki on Yahoo transfer found at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups#Preparation?
?
The main things are:

-- Make sure your new group is all set up ready to go, including the appropriate Welcome notice (see /static/help#membernotices).
-- Assess current Y!G usage so you don't go over quota (1 GB files and photos, 100,000 messages for the Basic plan) and thus run into delays.
-- Notify your Y!G members of approximately when you're going to do this so they aren't blindsided (some of them will be anyway, despite your best efforts).

It is not unusual for the process to take a week or more to complete.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

You create a new group on groups.io. Once you've at least created a
group there, and maybe done some setup work to make it the way you
want it to be, then initiate the transfer process.

You will no doubt want to let everyone know about the upcoming
transfer and also if you plan to close the Yahoo group to new posting
once the transfer is completed.

Where are you getting the 100,000 messages limit? Perhaps I have missed something. (Heaven knows I get more traffic from GMF than political posts.) Has something changed? The pricing page states, "Messages themselves are not counted towards the storage limits, only any attachments."

Mark implemented this a few weeks (?) ago.? It's on the Yahoo Transfer page:
"If your group has more than 100,000 messages, we ask that you sign up for the Premium plan annual option for a year. If you don't wish to do that, we will transfer the most recent 100,000 messages in your group."

As this information is missing from our Yahoo transfer wiki page, I've recently added a section to that effect (/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups#Assess-Group-Storage-Needs). Feel free to perform further edits.
