Good Morning,
?
I have always had it so that no messages
are saved on the home page.?
I do not want to save them on the home page.
Takes up un-necessary space.
?
I?have moved?from Yahoo and Google Group
and now to IO.
I think I should have come here to begin with.
Lots to learn here.
How do I disable that feature ?

There should be no messages on the group Home page, only the activity summary.? You may be a bit confused because when you choose one of your groups from the Your Groups list, it takes you to the Topics view of that group, not the home page.

You can go in and edit each new topic to add the hashtag. I don't know what happens if you edit an old topic and add a hashtag with a limit, maybe nothing if the topic is already older than the specified limit.

Note that your message archive doesn't count against your?quota.
In the Pricing page on the bottom of the page, it says:

What Is Counted Towards The Storage Limits For My Group?

The following are counted towards the storage limits for your group:

  • Files
  • Photos
  • Images in databases
  • Images in wiki pages
  • Message attachments

Messages themselves are not counted towards the storage limits, only any attachments.

I just did a test in one of my groups.? I created a hashtag that was to delete the thread/topic after 1 hour, then added it to an old thread.? It didn't even take a full hour.? According to the Activity Log, 4 minutes later the thread was deleted due to an expired hashtag.? I think this is as close as we can get to the 'no archives' option.? The biggest concern I can see is that you'd need to make sure the hashtag is used on all threads.? Or you could go in and manually delete the threads any time.
