User hashtags in calendar Event Names
New to groups.io as a manager and liking very much the tools I see after being on Yahoo.
Our group calendar is filling up with many weekly repeating events, all with reminders sent as normal messages. I want to use hashtags so members can mute repeating events that don't interest them.? My first attempt was creating an event with this Event Name: Concert Saturday at #LaJacaranda, P¨¢tzcuaro At the appropriate time, the reminder email appeared with this subject line: [The Michoacan Net] Concert Saturday at #LaJacaranda, P¨¢tzcuaro - Sat, 8/18/18 8:00pm-10:00pm #cal-reminder The bottom of the message contained the expected "Mute #cal-reminder", but not "Mute #lajacaranda", which was the option I wanted to give our members.? However, "#lajacaranda" does show up in the group's Hashtag page. What am I doing wrong?? I want the system to generate a subject line that says: [The Michoacan Net] Concert Saturday at #LaJacaranda, P¨¢tzcuaro - Sat, 8/18/18 8:00pm-10:00pm #lajacaranda #cal-reminder Thanks for any advice, Mark |

Try putting the hashtag first or last [instead of in the middle] and see if that helps. Regards, Bruce? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |
Thanks Bruce,
I had another event where the hashtag was the entire event name, so it was both first and last.? :-) This time, the hashtag was processed and a Mute button was added to the end of the message.? Now I have to refine whether it will work at the end with other text preceding it. For groups with a lot of repeating events, having the ability to mute an event's reminders is a valuable feature. #LaJacaranda, P¨¢tzcuaroI'm not certain, but I think the comma is the 'problem'.? Try doing the same heading, but leave a space before the comma.? It will look a bit odd, but should work.
