Open Link in New Window/Tab

I was looking at a message in my group that I posted that included a link. When I clicked on the link it did not open in a new window or tab, it just replaced the content from groups.io. Is there a setting that can force links to open in a new window or tab?

The raw HTML for this is target="blank"

I'm not aware of any group setting to control this. It's been my experience that if I insert a hyperlink in a message using the online message editor, it will automatically add this qualifier. If I insert a link using my email client and post the message to the group that way, it generally won't.

Your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

In Firefox and Chrome this can be achieved by holding the Control key while clicking on the link. Other browsers may do the same.

Some browsers also have add-on extensions which provide a right-click option "Open link in new tab".
