Seperate Message Footers
?? Sharon?, In spite of being misspelled, what does this mean? ?In groups which have that option turned on, the Groups.io footer (including any group-specific addition) is placed in a separate "part" of the email message body; separate from the message body proper. That makes possible the use of a digital signature to prove that you sent that text. ? I don¡¯t know what MIME is except it used wreak havoc with email. ?LOL, I like that definition. ? is a standard for sending messages containing more than just plain US-ASCII text, as well as for divvying up an email message body into "parts", so that different types of data can be carried in the various parts. It provides a syntax for markers which act as the dividers between the parts, and also for fields to describe the content of each part. One of the more common uses for MIME is to carry both a plain text and a formatted version of an email message. These days most if not all email interfaces can display the formatted text, but having a plain version of the message provides backward-compatibility for mail interfaces which cannot. Or users who choose not to see it. ?Shal ? -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
