Is there a way to rename the photos in the emailed photo album?? I am an owner on my group but the album doesn't allow me to edit the photos.

I tried editing a photo when I was approving a test message with a photo attached and even though I found a section labelled "Image Options" and was able to add a description of the photo there, the description didn't show up in the emailed photos album.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The Emailed Photos album is not like other photo albums...it is simply a repository for the pictures. The associated message serves to identify it.?

Go to Admin->Upgrade and click on the link that says View Attachments. Here you can view all the messages with attachments in a different way and access them by size or date.

If you open one of the messages, click on the More menu at bottom right and select "Edit Message." Here all the attachments to that message will be listed and you can delete (but not rename) them if you wish.

Note that if you do delete the attachment, it is considered a message edit and a notice will be sent to the person who originally posted it, even if you click "Save without Sending."

If you were (to be allowed) to change that- it is no longer an accurate 'record' as it was not in fact 'emailed' that way.
Perfectly logical to me.

If you wish to use the photo, you need to (IMU) make a copy and file elsewhere as appropriate. Delete the original.
Its also possible to delete the album. Ask me how I know___

Thanks all for the responses. I thought there wouldn't be a way but thought I would check.

Just wondering as well why there is an area to add a description of the attached photo when we are approving a post and that description doesn't show up anywhere in the Emailed photos album?? What is the purpose of the description then?

Yvette, I was able to add a description to an uploaded photo, but not to an emailed photo. The description was visible in the uploaded photo.?

For those who haven't tried it, you can add a description to an emailed photo by clicking on Edit when approving a post.? Click on the picture and then click on the three lines to the right that show up.? A box then pops up that lets you add a description before you approve the post.? However, from what I cant see, this doesn't show up anywhere.

Yvette, I just tested it using your instructions. Yes, I see what you mean. I was able to add text to the photo plus add sizing info (including constrain). But it doesn't show up on the site.
Looks like a leftover, an artifact. Perhaps a reminder to Mark?

I tried testing using Yvette's instructions.? When I clicked on the photo, it just opened the picture with no controls available.? I wonder if it's a function of the browser used or some other distinction.? I'm using an older version of Firefox (42).

Yes Duane, that’s what happens for me (a co-owner in Yvette’s group). I can only approve from iPad and get the same picture with no controls as you do.

Very interesting that the description box shows up for some of us and not others.? I am using Google chrome on my laptop when doing this.? I guess maybe it is the browser that is giving me the option and not Groups.io?
