Import group from Mailman
Hi Folks,?
I've searched high and low yet I have not been able to locate any recent updates on migrating a Mailman list into Groups.io. I found a post here (/g/GroupManagersForum/message/2275) suggesting there was work being done but it was still a manual process as of September of 2017.? The post further suggested emailing Mark at the support email address which I have done.?? The problem is I sent the email February 26th and I did receive the auto-reply containing a request # but I have received no further response.? I replied again on March 6th but still no response. I would very much like to migrate our existing group or at least get the message archives imported here.? I can export the group members and import them here once the message archives are moved, but I would like the archives in place before adding all the members.? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you, Don |
You've done all you can.? Mark decides what will be implemented and when.? Since there appear to be far fewer Mailman lists than Yahoo or Google, I suspect it's way down the list of priorities, if it's even planned.
FYI, one of my requests took almost 2 years to be completed. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWhat I ended up doing was just giving them the archives in the MBox format or what ?ever that is called All o them got?transferred. I then sent an invite to all members and most of them accepted. It took about maybe 2-3 days at the time and that was about in august of last year.Take care

That's the same format currently used for message archive export. You would have to subscribe your members separately. See? I don't know what priority he might give this request vs existing Y!Gs and other projects. Last I heard he was working on a full-group export function...something I would dearly love to see for backup/continuity purposes. Bruce |

I am happy to import or subscribe the users once the archived messages are moved into the new group.? I just wanted to get an answer on how to send the mbox?file in so it could be imported.? ?I guess I'm just a bit frustrated as I wanted to get this done months ago and based on other posts I was able to locate, it seemed an easy process once the mbox file got the appropriate?person. If you didn't get one, the message didn't get through...if you did get one, now is probably the time to reply to it. Unfortunately, there is only one person who can help you with this. Good luck, Bruce? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |
