Cover photo -- how to size to fit

I don't see a way to crop the photos I have to size them to fit the banner shape for the photo on the Home page. ?Are there any tips on how to fill the space for the cover photo?
?
Thank you,
?

You'll need to adjust the photo before uploading it.? If it's larger, the photo is scaled to 900X300 size.? On one of my groups, I actually stitch together 2 or 3 300X300 photos side by side to get a nice result.? You can use any photo editing program.? If you need a free one, you might look into .

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

Interesting point (or not, as the case may be...):
?
If anyone adds a photo to a group message they have the option of editing the photo... resizing, cropping, rotating and possibly "etc".
?
This option does not exist when uploading a Cover Photo; this looks (to me anyway) as though it could be the basis of a Suggestion on beta to provide the editing capability to this function.?
?
If this idea gets some* support here I'll willingly compose a suitable suggestion to Mark.
?
Chris?
?
* "Some" being an undefined quantity

You could try what I have done on the FOGgers group. I wish there were options for displaying a wider, longer banner, but it is what it is,

I think this is built into the TinyMCE editor (which Mark did not write). At the same time, groups.io can resize photos on the fly - in both messages and album uploads - so it's hard to know what tools he has at his disposal.

I'd back the idea. In particular, it would be nice to somehow freeze the cropping tool to a 3:1 aspect ratio. Too much to ask?? :-)
