How to send poll results to the group (in a simple way)
#howto
#polls
I'm about to launch a poll, but I need to clarify one thing.
When the poll is closed, are the results automatically sent to the group with a post?
The Owners Manual explains how to export the results in json or cvs format, but I didn't understand if there is a way to directly send the results to the group as a simple post.
?
Thank you in advance for your help,

?
1) From within the poll, click View Results.
2) Swipe the bar graphs with your mouse and copy them to your clipboard.
3) Open a new message and paste it in.
?
You may find it necessary to tidy up the formatting.

To share poll results, why not just suggest that members go look at the results?? Why do you need to send the results to them? On Thu, Sep 12, 2024 at 12:04?PM Bruce Bowman via <bowman46118=[email protected]> wrote:

If your message archive is Public, this can work well. Just send a link to the poll...click on that and there they are.
?
If your message archive is Private, everyone will be required to log in to view results, just as they have to do to vote. The number of folks who struggle with this never ceases to amaze me. How do these poor folks ever manage to pay their bills or do their banking?
?
Anyway, if you're going to have to send them instructions on how to go look, it seems no less easy to just tell them.

Bruce

For the same reason that when you launch a survey on any matter you share the results in a message adding some considerations for further discussion. Since the survey concerns a common issue, it would also seem unkind to me to simply say "go and look at the results yourself". ?
Many thanks for the suggestion, Bruce.

What about a screenshot, and share that with the group? ~Chelle in OKC ¡°Life is short. My group is set to not accept attachments. I guess I would have to upload the screenshot to the files section and invite subscribers to go and look at it, which is not what I wanted to achieve. I think I'll stick with the copy and paste solution Bruce suggests, but I think it would be helpful to have a "Share poll results with group" option. Maybe I'll try to ask for it on Beta.
Thanks everyone for the advice.

Anyone that's signed in will see the poll and can click the See Results button once the poll is closed.? Actually, they may be able to see it all along unless you've hidden the results until closed.? I think what you really want is a new message showing the results or to be able to force a resend of the post showing the results screen after the poll is closed.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual. |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI would not do a screenshot. If you have any visually impaired or
folks with cognitive disabilities on there, they might not be able
to read a screenshot at all thereby having them miss the results.
Just my thoughts. On 9/13/2024 11:18 AM, Marina via

Also, though they might be able to use software to decode an image to
text and have it read to them, it requires extra effort on their part and even then, the whole image to text translation thing might get really botched up in the translation. Then again, they might even not realize there's an image to decode.
