The only hamburger menu I have found looks just the same as it did before Or are you using a phone? Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 27/04/2024 06:41, KWKloeber via groups.io wrote:
Is it just me, or does anyone else find the new school 2ndary menu annoying vs the old, perfectly functional Hamburger Menu? |
Okay I understand now, I have never ever composed a message on the website or replied from there, hence my lack of recognising what you were describing

Having had no experience of the old, I can't comment on the new Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 28/04/2024 03:15, KWKloeber via groups.io wrote:

In four years using groups.io I have never to the best of my knowledge ever replied or composed via the website or the app which I don't use, on the rare occasions I need to access the site on my phone I use a browser, I have always replied/composed using email and can't see a time when I would do otherwise

The old composition window would drop a few icons if the screen was too narrow, and on that basis Mark may have felt having this on the left would be better. But that's just my own speculation.? @NivardI do both. This reply is online via the Group website because I receive Daily Digests from this particular group. For all other groups which I am more closely involved with, I receive individual messages and respond accordingly using my email client (Thunderbird). Best of both worlds. I confess I hadn't noticed the change from hamburger to dots - a non-issue? Brian. |
Bruce et al.,
I don't see this modified hamburger menu when I am in compose on any of my groups, either as a member or as an Owner/Moderator. But I suspect that is because I have my GIO groups all set for me as text only, in which case the only icon I see online in the top border of any New Message is the one for attachments. Actually I CAN see that new menu icon [ ¡ ] but ONLY in ¡ Admin > Preferences > Settings > (compose) Group Message, ...in the top border of the Group Message compose window. So therein must lie much of the reason that some folks cannot see the revised hamburger manu. OK ¡ª HTH Paul M. == |
I went to paste in, clean up and post our newsletter from the website (FireFox). I found the new placement of the hamburger icon but it will no longer stay open while I'm editing which requires many more keystrokes per correction. That sucks.? Maybe I can't find it but what happen to the do-over/back up arrow?
If keeping the 2nd toolbar open option was removed, please restore it back along with the back up arrow. Thanks, K Plum |

If you're seeing it go away just switching from portrait to landscape, that seems like a bug. I assume you're using the phone app? Which one? If not, what browser/device?? Please note that if the group is set to Plain Text only, many of the icons will go missing, not just the ellipsis. Regards, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

See below, on my iPhone X, iOS app, Icons available in portrait vs landscape mode. Also, my experience is that for all icons to be available on narrow screens, one must be in landscape before opening the app. ?Simply rotating doesn't work. ? On wider (pad) screens all icons are available in portrait mode.? Portrait: Landscape: |
