question regarding help section and link for people to join

In the help section, is there a way to search for a topic by word or do you need to just look at the options listed?
Also, I can directly add people to my group but if I want to send an e-mail telling someone to join, what link would I use?? ?My group is called Peachheadnanny - what link do I send them??

About Help - there are 2 main documents - one for owners and one for members. It is sometimes tricky to figure out which one. But to your question: ?the help page explains how to do search:

- View the manual as a single page . Then you can use the Find feature in your web browser to search the entire owners manual.
- View a PDF version of the manual. Then you can use the Find feature in your PDF reader to search the entire file.
Tip: In most browsers and PDF readers, you can press Ctrl+F on Windows or Command+F on Mac to access the Find feature.

I normally click on "single page" and use my browser Edit / Find (in Safari).

About inviting people to join your group:
Here's the Help page for using Invite.
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/inviting-people-to-join-a-group?single=true

Take the time to edit your Invite Notice (in Admin, Settings, Notices) and use your toolbar to highlight your own content to personalize it. Save it for future use and activate it. Note that you can't remove what is there (the boilerplate) which is required at least in some jurisdictions. But by spaces, formats, bolding and italics, colour, you can get a pretty good invitation.

Then use Invite in your Admin menu.?

Look on the home page of your group.? There's a section for addresses to use for various things.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

Follow up question for link to join group.? I know how to add members directly. I also understand that if they send an e-mail to the group similar to this:? ?[email protected]?(and replace groupManagersForum with the name of my group) they can join that way.?

But if I want to send a link for someone to join my group, what link would that be if my group is called PeachheadNanny?? In other words, if I send an e-mail saying:? To join PeachheadNanny you can send an e-mail to [email protected]?or you can go to this website and join the group there......what website would I use??

Would it be??/g/PeachheadNanny/topics?or another link?? My group is a premium enterprise group so when I click on home it goes to a page that I have created and I don't think I have the correct information there which is my issue.? this is my home page:???and people have said it is confusing on how to join my group so I am trying to simplify it as well as have a simple website address to send people to join this group as well as my subgroups.

Why not invite them using the Invite mechanism?

It works smoothly. You can track the request. Resend it if necessary.

The GMF wiki has information about it too:

Hi LindA, the address that you shared here, is the correct address to your homepage for your main group. You need to tell members that are wanting to apply, to scroll all the way down to the bottom past the subscription addresses, and click on applied for membership. This will send you a request to approve them. I hope this helps and answers your question.

I think your homepage needs paring down. Too much space and everything is double-spaced. The crucial info is below the fold - they have to scroll to down twice (with a track pad) to the email addresses, group information and group settings.

I am a bit surprised with Group Settings for your group:
?
?All members can post to the group.
?Posts to this group do not require approval from the moderators.
?Posts from new users require approval from the moderators.
?Messages are set to reply to sender.
?Subscriptions to this group do not require approval from the moderators.
?Archive is visible to members only.
?Wiki is visible to members only.
?Only moderators can create hashtags.
?Members cannot edit their messages.
?Members can set their subscriptions to no email.

I just clicked on Join This Group on your homepage and I was immediately told I was a member! And I can read the message archive.

Is this really what you want?

Frances
