Re: Cannot access Bouncing members

Thanks, that solved my problem, Bruce.

This new function is going to make it easier to weed out any problem members.

Cheers!

bouncing

I have a question. I use to be able with an arrow
under members see bouncing and then see
who is bouncing. Now I can't do this.
So where can I find out who is bouncing?
Thanks

Members adding hashtags to messages #hashtags

Claire PT

Hi, occasionally members forget to add hashtags until the message has already gone out or need to add one after the fact (think #giveaways for a giveaway). Is there a way for members to edit their own subject lines to add hashtags or can that only be done by moderators?

Thanks,
Claire

FWIW I think this bug existed before the recent changes; ISTR seeing things such as those reported here and on beta some time ago but I did nothing to follow them up.

Re: Most Recent Successful Delivery - question

Thanks for the confirmation Duane

I thought I was reading it correctly, this particular member seems to be in limbo as another member can't get a reply so just wanted to check what I could

Its an optusnet.com.au address which has proved problematic in the past, it appears they use spamhaus.org which were (are?) marking groups.io as spam

It was accepted and queued by the receiving email service.? It would then be on them to deliver it, but GIO has no way of checking on that. It's usually sent on to the addressee, but is sometimes diverted to their spam folder or even trashed, depending on the email service.

No, this is one of several bugs that have sneaked in during changes on the Members page, ? The good news is that it really only sends to the selected members and not the ghost members that it's counting.

the same thing just happened to me. i actually emailed mark a screenshot of the problem...mine also added 20 to the bouncing total!

Problem with (wrong) number of bouncing members

I have 5 members in bouncing status. I selected them all using the Display Name checkbox, as usual, to send them a (bulk) bounce probe, but the members count above the Action button stated "25 checked", although there are just 5 of them.
If I go on and click on "Send a bounce probe", the Verify action message is: "Send a bounce probe to these 25 members?"

Upon a second attempt, the count shown was 27!

This does not occur if I check all bouncing members, selecting each checkbox. In that case, the total bouncing members count is correct.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Marina

UCEPROTECT are extortionists. If your email provider is as clueless or lazy as to use UCEPROTECT level 3 then use another email provider. Mark can do nothing with this.

Re: Regarding a current situation - thoughts needed

The system has marked them as spam.? They will appear in the Activity log as banned by group support.?? This happens a lot on our buying and selling group.

I'm having a similar issue which I've mailed support about. I'm getting the e-mails asking to be approved as a member but when I click on that to go to the pending members page to approve them etc there's no one there. I have 2 currently dated the 26th and 30 of March but they're not showing up in the pending section or in the members page when I click on pending. There's no one there waiting. I really hope support will get back to me on this as I don't want people who need support for health issues sitting there waiting thinking they're being ignored. I had another lady a few weeks ago who I had the same issue with and I had trouble inviting her via e-mail, it would let me invite on her e-mail address. I have since let her in using a different e-mail and that one showed up in pending clearly or she wouldn't now be a member. Anyone else have issues with pending members not showing up??

You can add a footer specific to your group.? See the "Message Footer" section of /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/customizing-group-settings/message-formatting-settings

Adding text at the footer

Hello,

Is there a way to add some free text in the footer of all messages?
Today, under the original message, a section called "Groups.io Links:" shows for every message, I am trying to add to the same section or similar to it a small paragraph?about rules and policies for our group.
Is that possible?

Thanks
Motti

Bouncing - Blacklisted by UCEPROTECT #bouncedemails

The entire?Autonomus Systems (AS) range of IP addresses (173.255.208.0/20 and 173.255.221.0/24) is blacklisted by UCEPROTECT.? Please see??and click on "Start Testing".

As the entire range of IP's is being blocked, it doesn't appear that there is anything Mark would be able to do to resolve it other than contact the hosting provider.

Mike
