You have to invite transfer to your YAHOO group, not your groups.io group.

Thanks J and Bruce. The setting for own posts is about the only thing I didn¡¯t think of J

?

I also realized that he might be looking at the topics instead of separate mails. That would explain why he doesn¡¯t see his mails as they were part of a tread.

From the message header, it looks like this email bounced. If it was a "soft bounce" that would not necessarily cause his account to be set to "bouncing." More detail on this than you could ever imagine can be found at?/static/help#bouncing

As for not getting his own emails, I agree with J...he needs to follow the instructions at?/static/help#dupemail?but check the box instead of unchecking it.

If you are talking about seeing his messages onlist, there's no explanation for it. If you are talking about emails, tell him to go to Account --> Preferences and check his setting for "I always want copies of my own posts."

Great idea! Here's a link to the Help pages overall. Specific subjects are listed in the left sidebar.
/static/help
There's also now a "Help" button at the top right of every groups.io page that leads to the same place.

I checked that, Bruce but the mail isn¡¯t bouncing. He should receive them. The strange thing is that he does receive mails from the group, just not his own mails.

Indeed, the FAQ covers a lot but not this J

If he's not receiving emails either (couldn't really tell from your post), you should check his user record. Go to Admin->Members, find the record, and click on it. You should be able to see here whether his account is in a bouncing or not confirmed status. Also check his email delivery history.

When I first transferred my group, I sent a special notice to the group containing a link to the FAQ section of the Help. It served me well in heading off various member questions.

Good luck!
Bruce

As for the other email, I suspect another group member's mail server may have sent it. To figure out what happened you will need to provide the message header.

Hope this helps,

Re: weird thing

If he's not receiving emails either (couldn't really tell from your post), you should check his user record. Go to Admin->Members, find the record, and click on it. You should be able to see here whether his account is in a bouncing or not confirmed status. Also check his email delivery history.

When I first transferred my group, I sent a special notice to the group containing a link to the FAQ section of the Help. It served me well in heading off various member questions.

Good luck!
Bruce

Not Many Files Transferred - Delete Completed Transfer #transfer

Charles Scott

Question:

We just transferred a Yahoo group to Groups.io. It looks like users, messages, database, and images transferred OK (<24 Hours) but only one file transferred. Does it make sense to try again and ask it to transfer only files?

Also, does the "Delete Completed Transfer" option only delete the completed transfer request or does it delete any of the content that was transferred? I was assume that it only deletes the transfer request. It also seems that I need to delete the completed transfer before trying to transfer again only the files. Would that be correct?

Thanks,

Chuck

weird thing

Hi all,

One of my members cannot see his own posts online and also do not get mails.
I can see his mails online and get his mails in my mailbox. His settings in
my group are good. I have no idea why he cannot see the mails.

Also weird is the fact that het got this in a return mail from the group:
"[This sender failed our fraud detection checks and may not be who they
appear to be. Learn about spoofing at ]
We do not send mails like these.

It makes me think that it was caused by Office365, but I am not sure.

Has anyone an idea how to solve this?

Regards

Ary

Lags in connecting?

I had some strange behaviour lately when accessing different parts of our group.
The owner reported that for the past few days the messages tab wasn't appearing (but seems to fix itself in a few minutes)
I clicked on a file link and it at first went to the page one the files instead of the folder instead of the folder it was supposed to go to.

Any ideas what is going on??

Re: Perfect Transfer!

It takes "as long as it takes" ... depending on the workload on the folks doing the transfer. In our case, about 3 weeks ... no issues! Just be patient.

Re: How do I make [email protected] a moderator to my group?

You have to invite transfer to your YAHOO group, not your groups.io group.

Re: I'm puzzled!!

For example, assuming you are seeing this message in html format:?ilove@.... Click on it and see the address change.

Transferring UK Yahoo Group SUCCESS

As suggested I sent an email to [email protected] about the problem and my group was transferred overnight.? Still not sure why there were issues but the fast response is truly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: How long does it take to transfer

OK, I deleted the request and starting over (including deleting the transfer agent off my Yahoo member list). The whole transfer then went through in less than 24 hours...! The In Process page showed completely differently with no clickable buttons, all blue choice buttons greyed and the name of the yahoo group with 'transfer in progress' or similar in the 'In Process' box at the bottom right.

Clearly the first request just wasn't proceeding and I suspect it was likely down to me clicking something out of turn or otherwise doing something to confuse the process. Still suspicious of the number of messages appearing here about problems though, but re-starting worked for me..;-)

I'm in the same situation as Robert, having initiated a transfer on March 9th. When I select the Yahoo group name from the In Process drop down it goes to the Easy Yahoo Group Transfer page with a blue 'Update Transfer' and red 'Delete Transfer Request' button and with all the selection buttons ticked and blue. I'm thinking to delete it and start again...

Now that Verizon has offloaded its email responsibilities to AOL (with its customers having the option to retain their Verizon email addresses), I wonder if FBL applies to them too.
