On one of the groups I own I change the cover photo regularly -- doing whatever I can think of to entice more members to visit the website -- usually tied in with something being discussed. Today I

Re: Subgroup for your own Moderator's Forum? #moderators
hi peeps, For one of the groups I run, which has multiple moderators of differing levels of experience, we made a **separate** group, for us moderators. Works well. Part of why we decided to make a

Re: Outlook problem #notworking #outlook #ratelimited #ipreputation
The main fix is to contact Outlook and vigorously complain about them throttling groups.io messages. Presumably, good money is being paid in the expectation that desired emails will be delivered.

Re: Completely edit default messages for invites, direct add, etc
Paul, it is fairly straightforward. Go to Admin, Settings, and choose the Member Notices button. Click on New Notice (blue button below the list) Use the dropdown menu to choose Invite. (The menu is

Re: Completely edit default messages for invites, direct add, etc
Okay, I understand that I have to keep the boiler plate words. ?I will add some words of my own when I figure out how to make them a permanent part of my new default messages. ?A question that comes

Re: Message search by numbers
Hi Shal, In stumbling around the various options, first I tried Admin./Activity/Message activity. The first ¡°sort¡± shown was only messages posted since the migration to Groups.io numbered #1

Re: Subgroup for your own Moderator's Forum? #moderators
Most mail programs have a feature where mail can be sent to more than one address at a time, i.e., a group of sorts. Unless there are many, many mods, wouldn't it be easy enough for each mod to have

Re: GIO changes from Mark
Thanks. It is a learning curve. I have a different question on how to set a profile on a sub-group that is different from the profile on a primary group ( reflecting different roles). As far as I have

Re: GIO changes from Mark
Jeff, In that case if you post it as a special notice it will be sent to everyone on the primary group. And that's true regardless of whether the primary group is set to Announcement Group. "Receive"

Re: GIO changes from Mark
I personally don't see any problems with the change; it may be that 'sub-groups' were a way to avoid the limits on storage. I dont know for sure; but it seems reasonable to actually limit free access

Re: GIO changes from Mark
Thanks, Shal If we set the main group as an 'announcement group' so that only owners and moderators can post to it, and set 'Disable No Email' that should mean that everyone on any sub-group should

Re: GIO changes from Mark
Jeff, What Malcolm and Frances said: the subgroups operate as independent groups, except that each subgroup member must also be a member of the primary group. Messages posted only to one do not post

Re: GIO changes from Mark
Not Shal, but delivery of messages for individual members are governed by their own subscription. So if someone is ¡°no mail¡± or special notices only for the main group, they will not receive them.

Re: GIO changes from Mark
If I understand the system correctly, it's not possible to be in a subgroup without also being in the main group. That said, it does seem possible to receive subgroup emails but set nomail for the

Re: Outlook problem #notworking #outlook #ratelimited #ipreputation
John, Presumably the IP address cited was 66.175.222.12, Groups.io's outbound server. This wouldn't be a function of their email application, unless that is also their email service. "Outlook" is

Think of each group or subgroup as independent.? The only qualifier is that all subgroup members must be members of the main group.? Otherwise, they mostly have all the same options, such as Files,
