I hit reply instead of reply to the group. I¡¯d like to access the sent message so I reply to the whole group. Is there a way to do that?

As others have noted the option is not available in free groups. There is a workaround, although it won¡¯t be tied to an event announcement. Create a poll announcing the event with the vote options

Bruce, You can only invite people to the primary group. Once someone is a member of the primary group, each subgroup's setting applies as to whether a member of the primary group can see the subgroup,
