The invitation uses the Display Name and email address of the Mod sending the invitation. ?I presume if no Display Name is entered into the subscription, the Invitation defaults to the Mod

An Opt-Out option does not excuse involuntary subscription. Direct Add does risk involuntary subscriptions. The risk may be low because only paid Groups can do that, and presumably their Owner(s)/
