I am trying to load pdf files to the files. I have tried a number of different ones from my computer and I get the message that the PDF can't be opened. right now all I have is a free group. don't

Dano, No, I don't think Copyright applies in that way. And even if it did, by posting on Groups.io you've given a perpetual and irrevocable license to display your content.

There is no setting to default this checkbox nor a group setting to 'always notify' - which you probably wouldn't want to do, for example, when uploading a bunch of files, the group would get notified
