Re: every so often, get a member who absolutely for the life of them can't confirm
There are many messages like this that the moderator never sees. A screen shot in the support files would be helpful. But overall, this is an excellent list. Sharon.

Re: every so often, get a member who absolutely for the life of them can't confirm
Also: What is the sequence of events when a member is approved but hasn't yet confirmed? Do they receive the welcome message immediately after approval, or do they receive it only after they confirm?

every so often, get a member who absolutely for the life of them can't confirm
Also, can someone tell me the subject of the confirmation email, so I can tell this person what to look for in her inbox or spam? It is "confirm your membership," or something? Thanks. J you can merge

every so often, get a member who absolutely for the life of them can't confirm
About once a month we get a new member who can't figure out how to confirm. Can't find the email, has no idea what I'm talking about when I contact them, I'm re-sending and re-sending the confirmation

Re: Unsubscribe to this newsletter
It solves the problem for you individually -- but we cannot expect any significant number of group subscribers to bother doing that. Most users never check their spam folder at all, or check it only

Re: what gets logged for an approved but NC member who tries to post?
Shal, Right. I didn't see that. It was far down in the list. I agree - those dropdowns are really awkward.? J

Re: what gets logged for an approved but NC member who tries to post?
J, I believe that would be "Message from not confirmed sub". Buried in the list of "Message from" selections in the Actions drop-list. Which reminds me of your complaint they are not alphabetized.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.? Maybe I've not explained what I'm doing very clearly.? I open my aol (verizon) account in a browser every day, and keep it open all day.? I check it

what gets logged for an approved but NC member who tries to post?
When a non-subscriber tries to post to a group, it gets logged as "non-subscriber message." But does anyone know what happens after an approved, but still NC, member tries to post? Of course the

What if you don't get to doing that before aol starts its thing? Sent from my iPhone

Re: Unsubscribe to this newsletter
However, onerous as it may be, checking that spam message in the browser regularly does solve that problem.? I simply mark the appropriate posts "OK" and aol moves them to my inbox, at which point my

Go to groups.io and click on "find or create a group." Simple. J inglefamily@...> wrote:

" The problem arises when the email service itself determines that a list message is spam and places the message in the user's Spam folder." Yes, that is the problem. And it's a big one. J

Setting up a new group.
Hello again, After years of battling with Yahoo, with the help of Shal and the group, I've decided to test run an IO group. I know I'm being very dim here, apologies, but I can't even find how to do

Re: Unsubscribe to this newsletter
As I'm sure all are aware, verizon recently purchased aol. Consequently my email (using the verizon.net address) now must be retrieved through aol. I am not thrilled with this situation, but it is

J (and Jennifer), Not so much a work-around, as acquiescence to the demands of the email services. Some are taking a hard line towards email lists when their content is deemed to be spam - whether

Jennifer, Mark Fletcher is not a member of GMF. Though he could see the messages since they are public. Are you suspecting that the users marked the group's Welcome message itself, or some other

Re: Unsubscribe to this newsletter
This has to do with the new workaround for services like AOL (which was the first to receive this treatment, after not cooperating with Groups.io, as I recall) which create some sort of feedback loop

Re: Unsubscribe to this newsletter
I cannot explain how this happens, but there are "forces" out there on the internet between the sender of messages and recipients, could be ISPs or the like that mark messages as spam and if the

Mark, Maybe it's worth taking another look at the user interface / graphic layout on the notification-you've-been-added emails to make sure there's not a trap for the lazy / unwary reader. I've had
