If for any reason the original document/photo owner does not come over in the member list, they are reassigned to the group owner. With no convenient way to reassign them to someone else, you might want to try to resolve such bouncing/inactive accounts ahead of time if you can. Good luck, Bruce |

If you're right on the cusp, paying $10 ahead of time for a month of Premium access might be money well spent for the additional peace of mind. Your comment on paying the $10/month is right on target. I have paid ahead for a year and am so glad I did. The amount of time I saved by being able to use a couple of the features that come with the premium groups was/is amazing. After being on GMF since joining Groups.io, I've come to realize that when the transfer takes place there are a few thing that happen:
I originally paid for the storage, yet the ability to add members back without going through the invitation process and being able to see the list of those that had left is well worth the monthly or annual fee. Paul, Ohio USA |
File Editing very troublesome
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? Hi, everyone, ? sometimes its necessary to edit files or databases, especially now after being transferred. So after I have edited one file out of 400 and click ¡°update¡±, I?m led back to the first 20 files. Same with databases. I have one database with more than 600 rows. It?s really tedious if you have to edit all of them, and after updating each file you?re back at nr. 1. ? It would be really comfortable if ?the view stayed at the place I am working at, or if at least I could just scroll down the page. Or is there a trick I haven?t found yet? ? Victoria ?

Patti,
I replied OFF LIST
Yahoo email addresses get changed in Groups.io. For example, yours shows as "patti20905@..." To fix this, change the = to @ and drop the @groups.io. It becomes patti20905@... Are you "Paul"? Everyone wants to be named Paul! :-) Paul, Ohio, USA

Hi Paul! I am not the Paul you were addressing but would love the guide you created. I was not able to contact you offlist, since your email address, as I can see it, does not exist according to Yahoo.
Thanks!

Re: Date format in email calendar reminders
Hi Mark,
As Duane mentioned this topic has been raised as - HERE. Pity it's taking so long to change what I would think is a simple enhancement (but I'm no programmer (;>) It is a bit infuriating in my subject lines I have to preface with a European date to make sure the members of my Groups (amateur radio - and times - 24hr clock in Z/UTC/GMT) can recognise the date format correctly 01/06/18 - 1st of June or 6th January? Of course the 1st of June from our perspective. And a last, a lot of progressive on-line sites are starting to adopt the standard for dating format YY/MM/DD/M and no AM/PM just 24hrs. Cheers Jack(;>J |
Re: Group starting date
I believe that for Y!G transferred groups the starting date will be the date of the first post, as the agent has little else to go on. But there could be something happening with US vs European date format conversion, too. Only Mark at [email protected]?could explain for sure.

If I want to transfer my group do I have to reduce the size of the photos or reduce the number of photos or will the transfer process reduce the size of? the photos so I am under the 1 GB limit?Photo attachments (and attachments to emails in general) will not be transferred, so you don't need to worry about them. As for photos in albums, if there is a maximum photo size established in the group settings here at GIO (See Admin->Settings->Features->Photos->Max Size in Photos Section), they will be rescaled during the transfer. I suggest a limit of 1024px in the longest dimension as being more than adequate for viewing online. I'm also told that if during the transfer you do go over 1 GB the transfer agent will stop at that point and ask what you want to do. I have a yahoo group that is currently using 1GB of photo space and about 93 MB of file space.? I know groups.io has a combined limit of 1 GB.
If I want to transfer my group do I have to reduce the size of the photos or reduce the number of photos or will the transfer process reduce the size of? the photos so I am under the 1 GB limit? TIA Bruce Wilson Barrie, ON |
