In Admin->Settings->Files->Permissions, "view" access includes the ability to download the files.

Are you logged in? Logins expire after 30 days, or whenever you delete your browser cookies.

From the instructions:

Step 3

We will accept the invite and then send you an email directing you to make the?[email protected]?member a moderator.

This step typically takes a day or two.

You invite that address to your *Yahoo* group. When the transfer agent joins (may take a day or two), then you make it a Moderator.

Re: Help please......

Is it possible you are logging in with a different email address than the one registered as owner?
For example, I don't see Admin on this group because I am not an owner or moderator of this GroupManagersForum group.

Message delivery delay

I received a message this afternoon that wasn't delivered for four hours from the time that it was posted. Other posts both before and after came through in minutes. The email header showed that it was stuck in groups.io for those four hours.

Is there any way to determine why this one was stuck when others went out immediately?

Thanks,
Steve

Moving from Yahoo #transfer

I have invited [email protected] to my Yahoo Group. It reports "1 invitation sent successfully" but I don't see that email address in my members list. Is there any way of knowing whether things are in process at groups.io?

Adding A Moderator

I don't see [email protected] on my member list. How do I make this a moderator?

Re: Files section #files

I can't find where to start a new topic in this forum so will reply to this question with a question of my own.?

If I set my settings under polls, to 'subscribers can view, moderators can upload' Will it still allow my subscribers to download those files? I've been searching for info on that and haven't found anything.

Thank you,
Marie Alline

Re: #poll Creating Polls #poll

The suggestion was not for me but for my subscribers. I already know how to create a poll. I would just like it to be easier for my subscribers to view and vote in the polls.

Kudos to support from Groups.io #calendar

I have been more than happily surprised by how quickly Mark reacts when an issue is brought his way.

I have a premium group that loves the RSVP concept, but needed to have it adapted a bit to make responding to RSVP's easier to navigate.

This was taken care of by Mark in 2 separate fixes. RSVP's are much clearer to reply to with a change of font format to bold, and verbiage. The old RSVP format merely said:

An?RSVP?is requested.?View Event.

Now it reads:

An RSVP is requested.?Click here to RSVP.

Thanks Mark!

Re: changing a member's email address

Mary,
One thing to remember is that each account on groups.io can belong to more than one group.? So if you remove a member from your group, you are unsubscribing them, not deleting their account.??
If they resubscribe with a different email address, they now have 2 accounts on groups.io, one or both may be subscribed to your group.

The cleanest way to change a member's email is for them to login to their account and change their email address.
See ->?/static/help#changeemail

To clean up this situation, the user should login with the old email address that they do not want to use on groups.io, click on their name drop down button (top right), click Account, go to the bottom of the page and click Delete My Account.? [if they don't have a password, they can use the "Email me a link to login" function on the Log In page and login via the link they get in their old email]
If they don't have access to their old email, they should send a message to [email protected]?explaining the situation and ask that their old account be deleted.

Re: #poll Creating Polls #poll

Hi Chris! Thanks for the idea. I did check that and I actually didn't have anything checked in there. The first poll I did created the hashtag on it's own.? It's interesting. I created three polls and they all all have the #poll in the subject line, but only two of them are showing up as Polls on the homepage, and when I go to messages, only two of them show up in messages, but when I go to Messages/Polls, they all three show up.? I have to be doing something wrong. The hashtag thing is not something I am terribly familiar with. It's a learning curve.

Thanks,
Marie Alline

Subject: [GMF] another oracle: strange mail addresses of members

Hi, all,

above the posts which I get from some members there are sometomes very strange (mixing yahoo and group.io) addresses, for example

------

[email protected]; by order of; Tanja via Groups.Io wagenertanja@...
<mailto:wagenertanja@...>

[email protected]; by order of; Rieke via Groups.Io < <mailto:almulfl@...> almulfl@...>

------

Not all messages have such strange headers, but quite a few. What does this mean?

Re: Downloading Images (Photos)

Fine, I click on download but then nothing.? No clicker or any button to download.
Clicking the "download" button does not force a download, it merely sends the image again in binary without the html "frame." What your computer does with that is system-dependent; most browsers will simply redisplay the image. A right-click will usually bring up a context menu that will permit you to complete the download ("save image as...").

This topic was discussed at length here in GMF less than a week ago.?/g/GroupManagersForum/topic/17096899#7232
