Doing that will unmoderate everybody. I don't think that's what she wants.?
She wants NuM and she will have to do it by hand for the existing members coming from yahoo.

However long it takes, or how it happened, logout is clearly what happened in this case.

Here's an example from Gmail Settings for my account. Because it is an account setting on the Gmail server, it does not matter what device you are using - the rule applies at the mail server itself. If you are using a local mail client, it may have its own filters that could change whatever the server has done? with its filters. Previous to setting the *.groups.io filter, the odd item might have gone to Spam but what was curious was that Beta was categorised as Promotions while GMF messages went to Forums. Now, all go to Forums.?

Re: Moderation

That's because they came over as "M" (moderated) from your yahoo group, which had no "new member moderated" feature. You can either go through your member list and set them all to NuM, or leave them alone and continue to approve/unmoderate by hand as their first messages come in.

Re: Daily Digest Problem #issue

My experience suggests that plain-text digests are more likely to be delivered because they contain no clickable links. If some members experience a persistent problem you could tell them to try that.

Re: Moderation

Go to Admin->Settings->Spam Control and uncheck the "Moderated" box. Be sure to click "Update Group."

Can you confirm that the approx 50 messages per day are from individual members??
If not, then there must be a settings problem. More detail, please!

Moderation

I have set my group so that new members are moderated until they have 1 approved message. Re: Anyone else experiencing missing digests?

What email service are they using? Yahoo mail was and may still be bouncing emails. I know it started at the beginning of the month and continued into mid month. This also applies to some of the providers linked to them like Rocket.

Whether it is still going on, I don't know.

Re: Anyone else experiencing missing digests?

I have had one user reporting that about 1 in 10 digests are missing. Other users seem OK.

You were not unsubscribed from any groups at all. You were simply logged out. Probably your login had expired.

I got unsubscribed!

Even as Owner and Moderator of two groups, and a Subscriber to this one, I found myself? unsubscribed today.
My only solution was to find the page for join one of the groups and sign in with my e-mail address.
I got the link that was good for only 1 hour.
Surprisingly, it worked for all three groups at once!
Anyone else have this problem or know why it happened?
No message was intentionally marked as Spam, but since my e-mail is really a Yahoo address, maybe Yahoo delivered a message to my Spam folder.

BTW the "username" in this post is because Yahoo bought my rocketmail account long ago and gave me the name of ray_r.rrm
Now I'm afraid to change it
Thanks,
Richard

Re: [email protected] not joining

Ford Amateur Astronomy Club,

Is there any process to get it pushed as we need to get of Yahoo asap.
No, but there is a status page for each transfer. Go to the transfer instructions, and down at the very bottom is an "In Process" drop-list. Select the name of the Yahoo Group in question to see about that transfer (you must be logged in to Groups.io using the same login address as when you initiated the transfer).

There are basically four states:

1) The checkboxes are active and the only buttons are to update or delete the transfer.

In this case you have completed Step 1 and should complete Step 2 (send an invite) if you haven't already.

2) The checkboxes are active, but there's now a third button to initiate the transfer.

In this case you are at step 3. You should have received the email with instructions, and the transfer agent should appear in your Yahoo Group. You're ready to push that "go" button and move to Step 4.

3) The checkboxes are disabled.

You are at step 4. The copy operation is in the queue or in progress.

4) The top of the page says "Your group has been transferred."

You are done.

Re: Daily Digest Problem #issue

Val,

Does that mean that every one of our
members need to mark the emails as not spam?
If group messages are landing in the member's spam folder, then emphatically Yes - the member should mark each message as "not spam".

In some email systems that action will eventually train the spam filter not to put "messages like that" (group messages) into the spam folder.

In some email systems you can create a filter that will put matching messages into your Inbox, overriding the spam filter. Some email systems will override the spam filter if you put the sender in your address book.

Some have a separate list of "approved senders", also known as a "whitelist".

Re: #calendar#suggestion suggestion for calendar listing.

Bill,

I would like to be able to list all the things on a groups calendar
for the period of a year in one list instead of having to look at each
month.
Then you probably want to post this message on the official
"suggestion box" - beta.

Re: Group Managers Forum Posts on Google

From the first paragraph of the guidelines page:
  • Our GMF Group's web resources are open and public. Our Messages archives and Wiki are viewable and searchable by non-members. GMF message archives are indexed by major search engines. Unfortunately, due to Groups.io restrictions, you must be a member of GMF and logged in to access our Files and Photos sections.

Thanks Bruce.? No, she found us.? My group is restricted before they actually join.? I pass this info along to her.? I guess I could invite her with her preferred email...? ?Thanks again.? Mary

Insufficient information here to give a good response.?Is your group restricted? Did you try sending her an invitation at that address? Could it be that address is already a member of the group? What exactly did the message say? An actual screenshot or forwarded email would help.

You can also refer her to the instructions for changing email addressese at?/static/help#changeemail?

If she's trying to join with an aliased address that won't work. She will have to join with her real address and then set up the alias in her account settings. Also be advised that while an email alias is allowed for posting, all group email will still be sent to her real address.?

I hope something in there helps.

Re: I would like new members who have been approved to be able to post messages immediately without further approval.

It sounds like you already have a restricted group where you have to approve new members.? In that case, go to the Settings page to turn off New Users Moderated and save the change.? New users won't require approval of messages.
