I got unsubscribed!
Even as Owner and Moderator of two groups, and a Subscriber to this one, I found myself? unsubscribed today.
My only solution was to find the page for join one of the groups and sign in with my e-mail address. I got the link that was good for only 1 hour. Surprisingly, it worked for all three groups at once! Anyone else have this problem or know why it happened? No message was intentionally marked as Spam, but since my e-mail is really a Yahoo address, maybe Yahoo delivered a message to my Spam folder. BTW the "username" in this post is because Yahoo bought my rocketmail account long ago and gave me the name of ray_r.rrm Now I'm afraid to change it Thanks, Richard |
Re: [email protected] not joining
Ford Amateur Astronomy Club,
Is there any process to get it pushed as we need to get of Yahoo asap. No, but there is a status page for each transfer. Go to the transfer instructions, and down at the very bottom is an "In Process" drop-list. Select the name of the Yahoo Group in question to see about that transfer (you must be logged in to Groups.io using the same login address as when you initiated the transfer). There are basically four states: 1) The checkboxes are active and the only buttons are to update or delete the transfer. In this case you have completed Step 1 and should complete Step 2 (send an invite) if you haven't already. 2) The checkboxes are active, but there's now a third button to initiate the transfer. In this case you are at step 3. You should have received the email with instructions, and the transfer agent should appear in your Yahoo Group. You're ready to push that "go" button and move to Step 4. 3) The checkboxes are disabled. You are at step 4. The copy operation is in the queue or in progress. 4) The top of the page says "Your group has been transferred." You are done. Val,
Does that mean that every one of ourIf group messages are landing in the member's spam folder, then emphatically Yes - the member should mark each message as "not spam". In some email systems that action will eventually train the spam filter not to put "messages like that" (group messages) into the spam folder. In some email systems you can create a filter that will put matching messages into your Inbox, overriding the spam filter. Some email systems will override the spam filter if you put the sender in your address book. Some have a separate list of "approved senders", also known as a "whitelist". Re: #calendar#suggestion suggestion for calendar listing.
Bill,
I would like to be able to list all the things on a groups calendarThen you probably want to post this message on the official "suggestion box" - beta. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

It sounds like you already have a restricted group where you have to approve new members.? In that case, go to the Settings page to turn off New Users Moderated and save the change.? New users won't require approval of messages.

I would like new members who have been approved to be able to post messages immediately without further approval.
I am rather new here, so maybe this suggestion is already been made.??I see no reason to have to approve the same person twice.??In addition to approving a new member, I would like a box to check authorizing him/her begin posting immediately without moderation.

Re: New Member Can't Use Her Email Address and Had to Change
Insufficient information here to give a good response.?Is your group restricted? Did you try sending her an invitation at that address? Could it be that address is already a member of the group? What exactly did the message say? An actual screenshot or forwarded email would help.
You can also refer her to the instructions for changing email addressese at?/static/help#changeemail? If she's trying to join with an aliased address that won't work. She will have to join with her real address and then set up the alias in her account settings. Also be advised that while an email alias is allowed for posting, all group email will still be sent to her real address.? I hope something in there helps. Bruce |

Forgive my ignorance. Whitelist? Does that mean that every one of our members need to mark the emails as not spam?
Thank you for your input.? |

Ohhhh!? Well that is certainly logical, but not what I expected. LOL!
Thank you for clarifying and responding so quickly, everyone! Debbie |
Re: My group is set to restricted but it added a member without approval

Debbie, it worked exactly as it is supposed to. If you invite someone to join, the software assumes you want the person to join and it treats the potential member as pre-approved. ? On 3/28/2018 3:34 PM, minikitz- Debbie Jones wrote:

"Invite" sends a pre-approved invitation. No approval is required. If you want someone to simply apply and wait for approval, either send them a link to the group's home page, or instruct them to send an email to [your group name][email protected].

I have not yet opened my group. I'm still setting up and testing.
I sent an invite from the group to one of my other "testing" email addresses. Then I clicked on the link in that email to accept. It added that email address as a member without my approval as owner/moderator. I have my group set to "restricted". I checked "approvals" on the site and that email address is not there. I checked Members/Members and the email is showing as a member. Is there some other setting I've missed? I really want to approve members before allowing a join. Thanks, Debbie |

Also, the cold going around here is a super-bad one. So unless Mark has a heroic immune system (which actually would not surprise me;), expect him to be down for about a week. Some people are down for two weeks with this vicious bug.
