Re: Exclusive File Feature Query
Dennis,
Is it possible to upload a file (PDF, for example) and have it only be accessible to members with full access? It is not possible to have it be otherwise. Neither Files or Photos in Groups.io (or Y!Groups for that matter) can be accessed without logging in as a member of the group. ? For example, our Club wants to post a membership list/roster, but does not want it viewable or downloadable by non-members or members with limited access (NP). You can allow your group members to access the group's Members list, and/or member Directory, as an alternative to using a file. Re: Reporting Spam Message
Phil,
Can you let me know how I whitelist an email address? That would depend on your email service. You have a custom domain so I can't even begin to guess. If you mean at the input to your Groups.io group, there isn't a whitelist nor any need for one. Groups.io does not use content filtering, RBLs, or other techniques which might need to be bypassed. ? My group seems to have issues with .org addresses. What kind of issues? Trouble joining? Trouble posting? Trouble receiving group messages? Re: Problem with links in emails from Yahoo email users
Peter,
I'd say yes, as that would allow the links to go through without allowing scripts or other "dangerous" HTML code. Of course vigilance is still required because the links could be to nefarious sites. You also have Attachments set to Strip, which is good for keeping out malicious attachments but it might also strip the image that accompanies those links - I'm not sure about that. It may depend on how those images are transmitted in the email message. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Here's what my settings are at...trying to strike a balance between allowing folks to post messages via email, but also thwart any potential spam/hack attempts.? Should I check "Normalize" and un-check "plain text only"? ? Peter L. DeNardis On March 14, 2018 at 11:11 AM J_Catlady <j.olivia.catlady@...> wrote: |
Resizing of photos
开云体育Duane, ? o.k., I did what you told me. The stored information tells the same story, that indeed the photo has not been resized, it has the same numbers as the displayed size. So why is that? In my eyes this means resizing doesn?t really work, (or am I completely confused yet?;>) Victoria -- |

Locking the topic doesn't close the poll. It just prevents people from replying with a message. I think "close poll" is the only way to close it. ?Yes, my mistake.? Just wondering whether you have "normalize HTML emails" set in your group? On Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 5:58 AM, Peter DeNardis <pdenardis@...> wrote:

That's very weird. But these kinds of anomalies are basically why I've disabled the directory. (I also never use subgroups...) On Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 6:20 AM, Steve <butterandpeanuts@...> wrote: Thanks, Duane.? I'll do some checking, but: |
Re: Anyone have samples of letters sent to your group before and after transferring to io
Hi Linda, I've attached the Word & pdf format letter I sent as a Special Notice and the Word & pdf format on how to login to create a password. The login & create a password is specific to my group but feel free to use it and explain the difference. I don't think many people used the login/create password because it is pretty straight forward. You can go to the MonGenes Yahoo Group to see the text we added. I couldn't change the banner, another blessing from Verizon/Yahoo. Hope this helps, Paul, Ohio, USA

Re: Page selection in Directory
That's something you should report to [email protected]? so that Mark can look into it.? This group is composed of other users, like you, and the staff doesn't monitor it as far as we know.

Page selection in Directory
There is a minor technical flaw in the page selection in the Directory.
At the bottom RH area, the pages can be selected with left and righ arrows. But both arrows increase the page numbers. The left arrow increases the pages instead of reducing the pages. Hope this is clear enough. -- Richard |
Anyone have samples of letters sent to your group before and after transferring to io
开云体育Linda, ? this is the letter I sent beforehand. I copied the cover photo of our group on top so everyone would see at first glance where it?s coming from. This is the text: --- we want to inform you that we will be moving our group to another site in the next few weeks, because Yahoo, as you will have noticed, no longer works sufficiently well. As you know our topics are …….. Once the transfer is finished, you will be informed again. Name (owner of the group) and the moderator team I sent a mail to each group member (it took me quite a few hours for we had close to 600 members). By this I also found out about non-existing members, bounced mail-addresses etc. and removed them from the members list before hand. Good luck with your group |

Re: Resizing of photos
开云体育Duane, sorry, but I still don?t really get it. Just one example: I put photo settings to 140x140, then I uploaded a photo. When I do a right click to get foto info, it says: Size: 221,24 KB (226.552 Byte); Measures: 526px × 720px (resized to 240px × 328px). ? So where do I find that maximum size which I?ve set it to? Victoria ? ---- That confused me a little when it was first introduced.? I finally figured out that the photos are displayed at a slightly different size than they're saved at.? What you see when viewing depends on the device you're using to view.? If you download the photo, it will be at the maximum size you've set, so is stored properly. |
