Re: Change my email, multiple groups
Truth be told, the problem is that Yahoo made it so bloody convoluted to change your email. When Mark was developing groups.io, he intentionally made it very simple. Just go into your account and change your email shown and save that. It's like changing license plates on a car - you don't sell the car first, you just change that tag. But people are so used to having to go to all kinds of trouble that they don't comprehend just how simply it's done.

I would contact the other group owners in your groups through the group-owners email addresses to see if they are around. (The addresses are on the homepage of each group.
Say what you plan to do. Ask them to promote you to owner again.

I can't send on my old email addy and can only get in groups as a member using my new email addy To change your email address, you MUST figure out some way to first log in under the old one. That's the only way groups.io can ensure you're the account owner.
?
If you can't do that, you're stuck.
?
Did you create a password under the old address? If so, you can log in using that, or try using one of the social media logins. /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/understanding-groups-io-accounts/logging-in-to-your-account?
?
Failing that, you'll simply have to create new subscriptions using your new address and petition those group admins to remove the old one. You will lose "ownership" of content you provided earlier, but that cannot be helped.

Is there a way to limit how many posts a member can make in a day?
Google AI says there is:
===================================
Yes, on Groups.io, you can limit the number of posts a member can make by adjusting the group's "Message Policies" settings, which allows you to set restrictions like a maximum number of posts per day or a specific time period between posts.?
?
?
How to do it:
====================================
?
BUT I cannot find those controls.? This is in reference to a small 77 member free group.? We have a few people who can't seem to control themselves, worse get uncivil about it.? Don't want to deal with moderation

RSS feed integration ¡ª how?
I¡¯d like to integrate an RSS feed with my group, so that new posts on the feed are sent to the group. The documentation says to to the left panel and select Admin -> Integrations. /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-integrations-with-outside-services/feed-integrations I do not see that link.? Is it still possible to integrate RSS with a ?group? If so, how? Is this a feature that has been deprecated, or is only avaialble to paid plans? Thanks,? |
Re: Message with JPG attachment saves attachment as WEBP in Message Archives
Bruce asked:
Are you sure the original was really a JPG? I've seen a lot of "JPEGS" on the internet that were actually WEBP files with a JPG file extension.Yes. Irfanview notifies me if a file is misidentified and asks if I want to rename it. Also when the moderator replaced the WEBP file with the JPG file I had reposted he didn't notice anything like that either. Dano, |
