It was great when CCs were stripped. I hate that competitors' groups are "advertised". ?

Go to your group home page, log in if necessary and on the top right - your name - you can create a password.?

My understanding is once you sign in to Groups.io, you don¡¯t have to sign in again for 30 days. If you want anything inside of Groups.io like files and photos, then you have to go into the Groups.io site The only thing you can do outside the site is email posting, just like Yahoo Groups.

The transfer process 'copies' the information from YG to Groups.io, and
nothing is lost at the YG. The only thing that is not transferred are
Attachments.

Shal,

I was looking at the wrong email that I gave you information on, as a few replies before that email I found the right one.

The image was done by another person, and they told how they did it. They "composed message with Rich Text Editor function. Drag/dropped photo into message editor." He was using Firefox on a Mac.

Sounds like something an Email Integration could do.

Hello Shal:

What is that and how is it done?

That generates a unique email address which could be subscribed to the mirrored list, and which is allowed to post in the Groups.io list.

?
If there was any way to generate such an email address, that would do it.

I'm not sure how the mirrored messages are attributed - that is, I don't know if they appear to be "From" the integration address or the address of the original poster to the mirrored list.

Probably From the poster's ID rather than from the list (posting ID)
Here is a sample of a post I made tonight:
The first is the message in the online archives:
The second is from the archives or the mirroring group's archives at Google Groups:
and here it is in the Groups.io archives to which I manually posted the message:

?It seems that in all three cases the poster's ID is designated in the From header.

I would like to subscribe the Groups.io Permaculture Group to the ibiblio permaculture mailing list, which the Google Groups permaculture Group is already subscribed (and grandfathered in to continue using the mirroring feature, which Google has now discontinued).

I'm not really sure.

What landed in Emailed Photos - just the one thumbnail, or the full size image, or... ?

And what was included in the body of the Message's page?

There's an old saying in computer science to the effect that the only
complete and error-free program is one that nobody uses.
The observation is that any software that is in regular use ends up
being used for things the author never anticipated - and so unexpected
behaviors ("bug reports") and new requirements ("feature requests")
are endlessly generated. I wish I could dig up the source on that one.

Google Groups offered this for a while then discontinued it while grandfathering those already using this feature.

It would need to provide a unique user ID to use to subscribe the mirror group to the mirrored list.

Is this offered now or in future plans for the free service or pay.
