Bruce, thank you for your reply and suggestion.?

I followed your link and the last 'muted' posts from our group was in 2018.

As it was before in the previous interface version, on the left side menu click on Admin to expand the Admin menu. Notice how some of the menu items have that little down-triangle v, meaning they have sub-menus. Group settings are under Preferences so click on that to expand it.

Re: Problem with use of "info" subgroup to receive emails from nonmembers #email #subgroup

Bill,

I suspect this is related to a recent restriction introduced by Groups.io with regards to what are called "role" accounts, email addresses that contain info@, postmaster@, etc. Here's the beta group link to what started that restriction:

Sounds to me Groups.io needs to tweak that restriction a bit to allow certain cases.

I'd suggest you join that group and post your problem there so management will see it, they don't monitor the GMF group.

Cheers,
Christos

Frances explained where to find the group settings. However, if you have more
than one groups.io account, if it also is a member of your group and doesn't
have moderator or owner status, you won't see the group settings if you log in
with the account that isn't a moderator/owner.

Bill -- I'm still unclear on what you're trying to do. A groups.io [sub]group email address serves only as a receive-only remailer; you cannot send emails from that address. On that basis I cannot imagine how it could serve as a login email someplace else, but I've been surprised before.

I know for a fact that subscribing a Zoom address to your [sub]group isn't going to happen. Even if you allow non-members to post, they will go into moderation, and you'll have to manually approve them.

If you just need this subgroup to receive anything Zoom sends to it and forward it to your subscribers, you can set up an email integration. This will create a separate receive-only address in the form of [email protected]. Anything sent to that address will post to the [sub]group...including spam, if someone manages to get hold of it.

/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-integrations-with-outside-services/email-integrations?

Somehow finagling Zoom into sending something to an address that looks like that is beyond my ability to assist.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Problem with use of "info" subgroup to receive emails from nonmembers #email #subgroup

I'm having trouble trying to use the email address for our "info" subgroup to receive a verification code.? We wanted to use this email addrdess as the new login email for our Zoom account, but to make that change requires us to input a verification code sent from Zoom to this subgroup address.??

I never received the verification code, so checked the activity log, which showed the following:? "Non-member bounces+15570388-4d03-info=deepriversangha.groups.io@... attempted to send message "Zoom password reset confirmation" via email".? I have changed the settings for the subgroup to accept messages from non-members, but still am unable to receive a verification code sent from Zoom to this subgroup email address.

An email sent to this address from my personal gmail account does not have a problem being delivered to the subgroup members.

Thanks for any assitance on this problem.

Bill Patterson?

Sound like you may have accidentally muted that topic. If so, go to /topics?m=1 and unmute it.

Not getting posts from specific member

Our group has panelists who lead weekly discussions.

I got the initial post from this week's panelist, but I haven't received any more of his posts or any of the members' responses to his post.

I have received posts from other members.

I'm not sure what to check.

Thanks,?

If you haven't already, I suggest reporting this in beta; I doubt Mark knows about it. Be sure to specify you're using the iOS app.

Mute means that you don't want to receive any messages with that hashtag.? Unfollow is used after you've started following (always getting) messages with a specific hashtag and no longer want to.

You can see which hashtags you have muted at /mutedhashtags, as well as unmute them from there.

Go to Admin > Preferences >Settings, then in the Privacy Panel, choose that in the Visibility box.? You'll have to confirm that you want to make the messages private since this can't be reversed.

Mute and unfollow

Hello

We're trying to set up something a bit complicated and I'm so confused

Firstly, what's the difference between "mute" and "unfollow"?

And secondly, when I go into hashtags, I see for instance

where the bottom right button has "contradictory" options, and you don't know what the current setting is

So I click on it, then get taken to

where I mute the topic, but when I go back to hashtags (second screenshot); it is the same, so I never know what the present status of the hashtag is (muted or unmuted)

This seems so unfriendly and counter-intuitive. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance

Where had the billing link gone?

My renewal is coming up but I can no longer see the 'Billing' link in the left hand column.

What all the recent upgradings, is it now just somewhere I have not thought to look?

Would like to know before the renewal time for my group arrives (end of MAY).

TIA

Group listed in directory, private messages

The group will be listed in the public directory of groups on Groups.io, but the message archive will be viewable only to group members. Also, message content will not be discoverable by web search engines.

See below, on my iPhone X, iOS app, Icons available in portrait vs landscape mode.

Also, my experience is that for all icons to be available on narrow screens, one must be in landscape before opening the app. ?Simply rotating doesn't work. ?
On wider (pad) screens all icons are available in portrait mode.?
