I don't even have a Ban the Sender button, for that matter.
At the bottom of the pending message page there is a link to All Messages by this Member.
If you click through to the message from email to see message to be approved on the group website, you can click on the down arrow beside the member's name. The Send Message is there. (I had to look for it. I have never used it from the moderation interface.)

I guess we need a rewrite of the instructions!

Pending message page: where is the "Send a message" button? #howto #messages

The Owners Manual states that, in case of a pending message, you can contact the sender via the button "Send a Message".
(quote from the manual) "Click the link in the row of the pending message you want to handle. The page with the individual message appears. At the bottom of the page, click the button for the action you want to take"
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-group-topics-and-messages/handling-pending-messages

I have a pending message just now, but I can't see any "Send a Message" button at the bottom of the pending message page.
The only alternatives I have are Approve, Edit (on the left) or Reject, Delete (on the right).
I don't even have a Ban the Sender button, for that matter.
At the bottom of the pending message page there is a link to All Messages by this Member.

It seems that I am short of a couple of buttons.
Thank you in advance for your help.

There is no option within the subgroup Admin menu to add people in bulk to a subgroup but there is a workaround. Just bulk Direct Add people to your main group and also check the box for your subgroup. If they are already in your main group, you will see an error message about this but the member is still added to the subgroup.

Adding and Removing Members in a Subgroup

Hello -?

I would like to host subscriptions to exclusive content within subgroups in our group (). Specifically, in order for a user to get access to specific content, they would have to be a member of the subgroup containing that content, and membership in the subgroup would be provided in fixed-term increments.

I realize that we cannot manage time-limited subscriptions in . Therefore, I would manage the subscriptions in a separate spreadsheet. However, I need a way to update the subgroup member list in a reliable and straightfoward way.

The File Sync option is the perfect solution to this... except for one big problem: File Sync doesn't work at the subgroup level.?So I need to find a workaround.

I¡¯m supposing that I might update subscriptions once a week and I see that I can bulk delete every member from a subgroup. So perhaps every Sunday morning, I could delete everyone in the subgroup and then add back everyone whose subscription is still valid. But is there no way to upload a .csv file back to the subgroup to fill out the updated membership again? The Direct Add option would not be automated enough.

As an alternative, I see that I can upload a CSV file of people to remove in bulk. So I could do that periodically as well. But is there no way to add people in bulk to a subgroup?

Thanks,
Steven

Does the affected group have another owner or moderator? All the missing items might have been disabled in Settings; I suggest going to Settings and checking whether or not the missing items (to be found in the Features section) have been disabled.?

Both were create about the same time. BOTH had the full menu.
I see the other message with a list of features Wiki.

Only reason I know it had the files,? another user has posted them and I had downloaded them.
I went to modify a file in that portion. Not a great bid deal.
Will be curious on interest and etc..

If you're the owner, the only difference will be that you get the blue Owner badge and the Admin menu. A recently created free group doesn't have Files or Calendar etc. so you won't see a menu with those options. See the features page for a list of what's included for the different plans now.? Older (legacy) free groups have more features so you get more menu options.

This GMF wiki page lists the timelines and features for free groups.
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/25069

You can also go to Admin, Upgrade on your groups to see what features you should have.?

Could it be that one was created before the features of free groups were reduced, and the other after?

Yes. I¡¯m in several groups, all free. Here¡¯s one </g/AllApple>.

Same browser. I checked with another browser.

I grabbed the wrong screen. The one that I grabbed, I'm just a member.
Here is the actual group!

I thought of using one of my other email accounts and creating/joining to see if it has the same issue.

Left Menu Missing or Truncated

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi Folks,
First posting. I tried to search, but not quite the same issue I'm seeing.
I'm a member of many groups and owner of two groups.

One looks truncated:

One group looks normal:

Last time I went in to the administration, It was all normal. I KNOW there were files and etc..
I have two accounts and both show the same thing. Just sort of lost on where to look!!

Re: groups.io email threads vs. "forums" with organized topics

While I am sure that Bruce's advice is the best way forward for you, I just wanted to point out that you can require hashtags and you can make it so only the owner / moderator creates hashtags. That might get closer to what you want if you stayed with Groups.io

Mark does this in Beta group.
