That site is, I believe, hosted quite separately. The footer says it is hosted by statuspage.io and that's the domain notices come from if you subscribe.

Of course, there might be doubt about the effectiveness of the detection of the status of the various subsystems perhaps?

As Malcolm notes, the HTTP side and the SMTP side can be up or down independently. However, I have found this site:



generally useful for determining if websites are up.

You may also wish to subscribe to the since when things are down, Mark usually sends a note to that list.

I am not aware of any down time lately and the last on the status link you posted was June 7th

So suspect its your system/ISP that may be the problem rather than groups.io

Sort of.? If you turn on the sponsorship setting, Settings > General - Allow Sponsorships, then they could click the green Sponsor This Group button on the home page.? There they'd enter the amount needed to cover the time period wanted.? (If you'd rather not have others contribute, you can turn sponsorship off afterward).? As the group comes up for renewal each year, the amount needed will be deducted from the balance.? Keep in mind that money in the sponsor account can only be used to pay for the group and there's no way to get it back if not used.

If you want to be able to access the money, you'd have to use Donations.? That has to be sent to someone as it comes in and they keep all the records.

One thing that can get you labeled a spammer is when the mail server sending the message doesn't match a DNS lookup of the domain in its From: address. Hi Linda, all,

were you using the groups.io app, or really the browser, when you saw the unwanted behaviour (list scrolling forever)? I found that the member list you see under ?admin“ is never split into 20/50/100 entries but always scrolls continuously, contrary to the member list for regular users you get under ?directory“ where the setting works correctly. This is in the app only - in the browser, both the admin member list and the ?directory“ are always split according to the settings in your account

I've received that result 6 times over the years, most recently ~18 months ago.? For obvious reasons, Google isn't too specific on the exact cause of the bounce.? Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to narrow it down much.? It could be that the member has been marking messages from Groups.io as spam or there may be something within the message that it doesn't like.? Groups.io tends to pay fairly close attention to this, especially after a site change, in case the change results in problems.? I'd try contacting the person off-group to see if they can offer any additional clues.

Do you mean prevent subgroup members from reading the main group messages?? No.? Since everyone must be a member of the main group to join a subgroup, they'll always have access to the main group information.? You'd have to "reverse" the groups so that main group members could be prevented from accessing the subgroup.
