Help with Invite
I'm asking for help again, please. I thank you all for your help in regaining my position as Owner of my group, I'm back and all is well. However, two people have requested to join the group, and in each case I went to Invite, followed the instructions, sent an invitation, then checked to make sure it had been sent. Here is a screen shot of the page: As you can see, it shows that the invitations have been sent, but the persons never received the invitations. Please help me understand why, and how I can make sure the invitations are sent. Also -- can an owner personally subscribe a person who wants to join? That seems like it would solve the problem, but I can't find any way to do so. Thank you for your help. -Kathrynne Holden |

If you send out in a post a link to a a website that has photos, clicking on the link will show you the full article with images. It doesn't remove them from the article.? That is separate from Attachments and Photos In Admin, scroll down and click on features. Disable photos if that is your preference. The Photos menu also disappears from the side bar. I found though that I could still send photos. The best way to stop too many photos is to also change the Attachments setting.? In Admin, Message Formatting, change Attachments to Moderate. That allows some attachments to go through, including photos. But the message will have to be moderated. You can just delete the attachment if it is inappropriate. Hope this helps! Hi All,
?
I just checked the Wiki for using the choice of no photos (not for my group but for another).? I says no photos visible nor saved which I understand.
?
My question is, if a photo is attached or embedded in an email sent from a service other than groups.io itself, and normally goes through the groups.io service and out to the members, is that picture stripped out of the email or just not shared on the site but included all the way through groups.io to the recipient?
?
Sincerely,
?

I use the mobile all the time.? I have a iPhone 12 Pro.? It was a little wonky at first but if you go from portrait to landscape mode by physically rotating the iPhone, you are able to see everything in the window.? There are sometimes problems seeing member pages and trying to see when they "Joined" but overall, you can access all parts of the site.? At least I can with this particular iPhone.

Where is the setting to make the display larger in the mobile AppAs Frances said, there is currently no function to increase the text size in the app.? You could always use a browser on your phone which should allow you to do that though. Check the subgroup for any updates and to raise further queries on the app. Regards Andy |

Mobile App question

I manage several groups.
I just downloaded the iOS mobile App. I can't read any messages, or do anything in the mobile App - the display is all far too small for me to read. Where is the setting to make the display larger in the mobile App (it doesn't follow the iOS text size setting, which I have right in the middle, nor can I zoom the page like I do in Safari). I must be missing something obvious. I am planning to use the mobile App for communication at an outdoor event, to coordinate people. But if I can't read the messages, that isn't going to work. Thanks. |

Dgrass1 - I remember that!? Maybe Mark can add it???
?
I've downloaded the photos from 14 to 22 plus photo 13 and uploaded them one-by-one in the correct order so the problem is now solved (for the moment).
?
Thank you all for your ideas on what to try and why it was doing what it was doing.

I kind of agree with Chris, but a new problem could popup if one wanted to insert a picture between 01 and 02. One good aspect of the old Y Groups photo albums I really liked, was the abbility to 'reorder' the pictures in an album by simply moving them around with a mouse. If a person wanted to move picture 03 in between 01 and 02, then a simple drag and drop was all that was needed. Numerical or alphabetical naming did not matter.

The behavior I've just experienced 1st hand explains a lot of the user confusion that has occurred after I've provided a training session.? If the instructor is confused, the students will be too ;-) ? It has to be some sort of caching issue, but trying all of the usual things, verifying the app isn't running on my phone, logging out/in, clearing the cache on my browser, hasn't fixed it.?? Am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks! -kenny |

If I get a chance I will try to determine if there is a limit to the number of characters that a "sort by name" can handle.? Chris? |

Sorry, Margo. I was typing my suggestion just as you were typing your explanation. Here's what you can try:
Copy the name <2023challenge_week12.jpg> from week 12 picture and paste it as the name of your week 13 picture. Don't retype but copy and paste and see if that works. -- ____________ Jeannette B. |

Re: Photo sorting #bug ?

Yes Marilyn only it's an underbar instead of a dash.? But otherwise you are correct.? I not only double-checked it, I also retyped it and it still won't go in the correct order.
?
The actual order that is there now is?
?
2023challenge_week1.jpg through 2023challenge_week12.jpg
?
Then 2023challenge_week14.jpg through 2023challenge_week21.jpg
?
Then 2023challenge_week13.jpg followed by 2023challenge_week22.jpg
?
Week #13 is the one out of order
?
This is inside an album.
?
I know at the Photos level it will alphabetize the albums A to Z or 00-99 and A to Z.? Inside an album it won't do that even though I choose Name up or down.

Are you saying that photos are named and sorted like the following?

?
If so, that certainly looks like a bug.
