I should modify that. An existing hashtag can also have a "topic duration" that establishes some period of time after which the topic is locked. So it doesn't have to be "immediate."

But in practice, Members remain unable to create hashtags with these properties. A Mod/Owner has to set it all up.

They do not have the ability go back to the topic and lock it later.

Are they really in the same topic? Or do they just have the same subject line? It's not the same thing.

See /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/additional-information/topic-threading-algorithm for more info on how incoming messages are threaded.

If they are?in the same topic, my guess is that your Moderators/co-Owners are the ones who are doing it. Such folks can post to locked topics, and I'm not particularly fond of that, either. I posted a suggestion to change this behavior (??), but it never got much traction.

Frankly, there is no reliable way to lock a topic that cannot be circumvented by an enterprising member. The only thing you can do is put repeat offenders on moderation.

Help says:
Members who send email replies to a locked topic receive an automatic delivery failure notice stating that the topic is locked. Group owners and moderators are able to reply to a locked topic (by email or on the group¡¯s website) without having to unlock the topic first and then relock it after posting their reply. Be aware that if the locked topic is also a moderated topic, those replies go through moderation.

Notice that group owners and moderators can reply to locked topics. I just tested and it works for me. Only my owner email worked and an email address with regular member privileges doesn't work.

Of course, subtle changes to a subject line doesn't get stopped by the locking.

If you are getting messages through that are locked, send us the two subject lines. Perhaps we can see the differences.

I don't have an Enterprise group, but it's my understanding that paying for Enterprise gives you your own domain. The "custom homepage" is housed on that domain. If you lose it, you lose the customization.

And what would happen to the stored files that exceeds the plan?
"Locked" (per Duane's previous post) means read-only. The files in your main group will remain, but you won't be able to upload or make any other changes until you delete enough files and photos to bring usage to below your current plan's allocation. Any subgroups you have will behave similarly.

Again, I have no actual experience with this.?It would be best if someone who has actually done it would chime in.

I don't know of anyone that's done that, so this is based on the Premium to Basic downgrade and information given about Enterprise groups.
1) You'd lose any customization of the home page.
2) Depending on when the group was created, you'd either lose all stored items (except messages) or they'd become locked.

There is a grace period after a downgrade in case it was a mistake, but I'm not sure how long it is.

Upgrading to Enterprise #upgrade

Hello
I want to upgrade my group to an Enterprise plan for 1 year. If I downgrade to a cheaper plan next year, would I then lose the changes made to customise the homepage? And what would happen to the stored files that exceeds the plan?

Thanks in advance!

There are a variety of options from the Advanced Toolbar:

Options may be limited based upon if the group owner has set the group to plain text or to normalise HTML which strips out colours and fonts.? Your personal options are also governed by your editor choice in your account preferences page.

These options may not be as flexible as something like MS Word if that's what you are expecting.

The problem is that you haven't set up a default email client.??

I think Win 11 will use Edge if you're searching from the start menu search box
though in any case. But a link in say your email should open whatever you chose
as the default browser, and if you haven't selected one Microsoft does you the
nice favor of providing you with the Edge browser as your default. :-)
