¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMany thanks Duane. I now understand that?Member Directory and Member List are two separate things. I have also read through the link Bruce sent:I have set up a test member account with another of my email addresses so I can check the functionality.? As the owner, when I go to Settings, Privacy, and set the Member List to "Owners Only" (as I now understand this is totally separate to the Member Directory) then when I log in as a group member I do not get a menu option to see the Directory - even when I set the Profile Privacy to ¡°other members of your group¡±.? When I log back in as the group owner and look back at the link above that Bruce sent - see the screenshot attached - green arrow says I should have an option as the group owner to go to group settings, under Privacy, see Member Directory, but I don¡¯t have that I have only Member List Visibility under Privacy as group owner - see second screenshot. No option for Member Directory, only List.? So I am still stumped. Sorry if I¡¯ve missed something obvious, but any other ideas? Re: Question about owner being unsubbed

Anita -- I'm hearing conflicting information.?Your best route to track this down is the activity log. If you unsubbed, it will say "Display Name <email @address> left via web." In this case, you will not receive a confirmation email with any link to immediately rejoin. If you (or your ISP) marked a group message as spam, it will say "Display Name <email @address> reported a message as spam and was removed via email." There is no way to mark a message as spam using the groups.io web interface. It's possible that a co-owner or Moderator kicked you off the group, but that shouldn't send you any auto-resub link, either. A Member Notice of type Goodbye could contain a link of some kind, but such a link wouldn't automatically add you back. Again, check the log. Re: Question about owner being unsubbed
thanks for your responses. I first thought it might be the spam thing. I looked in my spam and there was no mail from iogroups that went in there. It said I unsubbed via web. Usually if you get unsubbed because of spam it will say that but it didn't. I was wondering how this could happen and if someone could unsub you after they left the group to get back at you for some crazy reason. Thanks Anita |

Re: Question about owner being unsubbed
Anita,
That sounds a lot like the usual route for a spam message type event. GIO gets a notice of a spam reject, it flags the account and generates the message. While it says it unsubscribes, it still knows all the groups that user was in so they all get reenabled when the message about being cut out 'by mistake' gets the right reply. While it had said the person was unsubscribed, I suspect it is really just a special state of nomail awaiting the reply. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.org www.syracusemodelrr.org |

Question about owner being unsubbed
I had a weird thing happen last night. I am an owner of a group
and I got unsubbed and it said via web. I never did that. Then got a email saying if it was a mistake to click on a link and I got back to my group. How could this have happened? Thanks Anita Mod's note: add "being unsubbed" from body of email for clarification |

I¡¯ve run into the same problem. No hashtag, approve first message, subscribed email address. Affects long-time members. Non-members cannot post. No other moderator. It hasn¡¯t happened lately, but it seems intermittent and can last for days (though since the group is low traffic, it¡¯s not that many messages)
