?Chris
I have a <btinternet.com> email address subscribed to my group and have not had any problems with losing group access because of having a message marked as spam. It is for my second presence as Group owner, but that shouldn't make any difference. Margaret Leeds, UK -- My ISP (BT) changed its mail interface a few months ago and all Groups.io traffic was shunted into the Spam Box. Export Database Function
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have used the Export Table function in the past to save a database in the CVS format on my computer, and have used this same function before in backing up and overwriting this file on my computer. I tried to Export again to this file to update it, but after selecting Export Table and CVS Format it automatically opened the file on my computer, without me selecting the file I wanted opened. The file opened in Excel was the old file I wanted to Export to for updating, and I am at a loss at what to do now. Am I doing something wrong? ? Don |

Missing messages on website
On the website a new thread/topic appeared, but it started with a member posting two responses to the original post.? I couldn't see that original post on the website and the message count for the topic was only two - i.e.the two responses that I could see, with the original post not included in the count.? I could only see the original post by clicking "Show quoted text" on the response.? When the daily digest arrived I checked and there was indeed an earlier post that started the thread, and other members had responded to it.? Back on the website I could see the responses, but still not the original post.? Subsequent posts by the OP to the same topic did appear. Penny |
Re: member unsubscribed for 'marking a message as spam'?
Here's another possible solution. Gmail (which generally doesn't have the problem we're discussing) lets you define filters that look for certain characteristics of an email, such as keywords or the sender's address, and take various actions. At times I have had to set up a filter to NOT send certain emails to the spam folder.?So if a user's ISP has this capability and the user is savvy enough to use it, it's an option.

I agree. I have a hotmail account (now Outlook), and there are a couple of regular senders whose emails always go into the Junk folder, no matter that I mark them Not Junk every time! Jenny ![]() On Sun, Aug 16, 2020 at 10:40 PM Rubens <rubens.alves@...> wrote: ... |

If I remember rightly, BT like Sky use Yahoo as a service under their own branding (I have both) or have they moved again? My suggestion for a solution for your problem is use another service, such as gmail which doesn't have the problem you have Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 16/08/2020 20:26, Chris Jones via groups.io wrote:

My ISP (BT) changed its mail interface a few months ago and all Groups.io traffic was shunted into the Spam Box. ("All" in this case being traffic from the one group I moderate; my preferred modus operadum is to use the web UI) Marking messages as "Not Spam" was completely ineffective; it carried on shunting them aside. My previous solution was to disable the spam filter but this option was not available under the new regime, and on its own admission BT had / has no means of whitelisting. The only solution was to load Groups.io per group sending addresses into the ISP's webmail Contacts List, and with one exception this method has been successful. Simply trying to teach BT not to declare Groups.io emails as Spam was a waste of time, and without knowing how other ISPs react to attempted training I for one would not recommend that as a solution. "Sticky"
I realize there is a "sticky" option to keep a particular post on the top of the list in Topics view.? But when the Message view is utilized, there is no such option, and that view is really where I really want a "sticky" option.? I and my other members are always using the "Messages" view, not the "Topics" view.

Have they looked in their spam folder online

That is where it probably is (given they have already been unsubscribed for marking as spam or their emailer has deleted a groups.io post after 30 days which is the norm) If they find its there and mark as "not spam" which returns it to their inbox they may not have the problem again Spam filters need training and by marking as "not spam" its teaching the filters Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 15/08/2020 18:39, Lori - cyberTOPS wrote:
