UPDATE: It seems the problem was the subscriber's "Confirm Your Groups.io Subscription" email going to spam folder.

Re: Chronic:: Messages not being delivered.
A suggestion that may help some folks: switch to digests. Not a solution if you like the interaction of receiving and sending emails all day, but for folks, like me, who spend an hour on groups in the morning and then leave them be for the rest of the day, digests reduce the volume of email and the odds that it will be classed as spam. When they are classed as spam, it's only one email to report not spam.

We are a new group and have signed up over 40 members. One candidate who applied yesterday is listed on our members section but has the code "NC" for "Not Confirmed."? How do I confirm this member? 23.3.3 Confirming members who are marked as Not Confirmed
In a Premium or Enterprise group, owners and moderators can confirm members who requested to join the group but have not yet responded to the confirmation message sent by Groups.io. These members are marked with a Not Confirmed ? badge in the member list.
To confirm a member who is marked as Not Confirmed:
1. Display the membership record of the member whose membership you want to confirm.
2. Go to the bottom of the member¡¯s page and click the Confirm button.
Note: In a restricted Premium or Enterprise group, if you approve a pending member who is not yet
confirmed, the approval also confirms their membership automatically.

Alan,
This has caused confusion for those who get the digest. They tellThat seems to imply that your group's Reply To setting is "Group and Sender". Look for it in the Message Policies panel of your group's Settings page. Re: Member is "Pending Approval" but there is nothing in "Pending"

Jim,
Someone applied to be a member of my group via the web,The Pending page is for pending messages, not pending members. In Admin->Members the person shows up when the top drop-down is set toThe Members page is the correct place to find pending members, as you discovered. AND with the drop-down set to "Members". How can someone be both aThey can't. As Bruce said, check the email address carefully. Particularly if one of them has the the NC badge, it may be a typo. I clicked the "View Pending Member" link in the email and it said theIf you replied to that email that would approve the pending message. Or, a moderator can approve new members if you have promoted someone and given them that permission. The best place to look is in your group's Activity log. Usually that will provide the answers, or at least valuable clues. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
Re: Chronic:: Messages not being delivered.
Chris,
With the new one even /that/ limited choice has been removed. NoBut, is there a Junk or Spam folder in the webmail interface, and can you create a filter that moves a message to the INBOX? "Filter" here refers to a generic capability to recognize certain messages and take an action - not specifically a spam-related function. (I do have one IMAP address already that was foisted on me and I canNeither did I at first. It took a while to really "get" what it can do and how to work with it. IMAP is merely a means to let you access your INBOX (and other web folders) with the messages still on your provider's servers. You can then copy or move messages to folders that are local on your computer. Typically you can also set your application up to make a local cache of the messages at your provider, so that you can access them when working offline. As I said, a different way of looking at things. It is very useful if you happen to read your email from multiple computers, or even from your computer plus your phone (and/or tablet, and/or laptop). Thanks Francis,
It used to be NUM for New User Moderated, now labeled NMM. ok.
It used to be NS for Non-Subscriber. To change my kneejerk/habit for myself I have put a sticky
on the screen NM = Non Member. And of course there is the tooltip saying Non-Member which
comes up after a small wait.?
The bigger problem
is that on the Pending screen, a message from a new member on
moderation has no label next to the Author to indicate status. I guess no tooltip either. (I think it
was NUM3 before.? )? So, to check, for each blank status i have to go to Members to find their
status. a lot of clicks for my old short attention span.
