Don't wait for that email. When I requested a download the promised email never arrived, but the downloadable file was ready after a couple of days. That was back when the rush was on, before they extended the date. Just go back to the download page and see what it says there. Jim On 18 Jan 2020 at 17:44, Bill Hazel wrote:

If you approve the message, it goes to the group instead of being processed for restricted hashtags.? I'll try to do another test later to see if it still exists.? Current policy on usage of Hashtags
I have a problem with one subscriber, who insisted on following the query thread rather than the current use of hashtags as posted. What's the clear current policy of using hashtags in subject line (where hashtags push out the topic of the posts) versus use of hashtags in body of message? I see several posts used either method and show up in hashtag topics just fine. David Samuelsen, Rootsweb listowner refugee |

It sounds like the problem you're running into is PDFs that weren't initially?created in Word or any other word processing program. Many graphic-heavy PDFs are created in draw programs that know how to handle the different graphic files and are able to deal with 'adjusted' word and letter spacing. The program that created the file is generally the best to use to take it apart, but those may not be available. I have found that CorelDraw is very agile in taking apart PDF files, but you may still run into occasional?problems.

Re: Converting PDF to RTF (was: Uploading files to Groups.io)
RTF has a bad reputation for carrying malicious content. It's fundamental to the RTF format so most folks are moving away from it.
Don't distribute in a format that security-conscious users will refuse to open. Every Android user I know has Adobe reader or another PDF reader downloaded already. |

If a regular subscriber uses a restricted hashtag the message will never get that far. Check your hashtag settings and make sure they are set per the screenshot below. This should restrict these hashtags to Moderators but will not cause posts using them to land in moderation. If messages are still landing in Pending, it's because your group is set to Moderated, or that topic has been moderated, or a non-subscriber sent the post, or you have that poster on a moderation override, or some other such reason. Yes fully aware anyone can use another email address or name for that matter to resubscribe In this case it was merely finding out if the banned list exists, which it does, so all well Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 19/01/2020 17:49, John Pearce wrote:

Hi Frances,
Many thanks for the quick reply. I haven't removed other options so the footer does have the 'Reply to Sender' etc. But when you say there is "a Reply to line added into the email" how do you configure that? If I could automatically add that line in near the start of the email that would be a possible solution. Thanks, Richard |

Hi - I'm new to this and am configuring and testing a group and sub-groups. One of the things I wanted to achieve was to make the default 'reply to' the sender rather than the group. I'm guessing there is nothing I can do about that as it is outside the control of the groups.io platform.I use Apple Mail. My test group is set for Reply to Group. I have not removed other reply options. When I click on reply to a Group email, a reply message only goes to the group. It does not cc the sender.? There is a Reply to line added into the email that takes care of this. Additionally, the email footer gives me the option of replying to the group or to the sender only. Clicking on one opens an email in my Apple Mail with the sender's email address in the To box. If I choose reply to sender the subject is automatically reconfigured with Private added in: Private: Re: [TEST FRANCES] test reply to reply all Here is the footer. ?|?Reply To Group?|?Reply To Sender?|?Mute This Topic?|? This works as long as you don't remove other reply options in Admin, Settings. If you remove other reply options, the footers are: View/Reply Online (#662) | Reply To Group | Mute This Topic | New Topic Of course, a member can reply online as well, but I understand that you would like members to mainly work through email only. Additionally, if someone belongs to a subgroup and only wants to get subgroup email right away, their subscription should be set to full featured digest or even Special Notices only. The subscriptions are separate for subgroups and main group. See this help wiki page about footers - ?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Footers Frances ? -- Moving to Groups.io (without easy transfer)
