Re: Custom Invite Question
Cindy in DE
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNo because it would not go out to people set to no email, admin only email or digest email.? All of those have been disabled in YG.? Only the members set to individual emails would get the message.
I did send a message on the last day digest people would get it.? So those with individual and daily digest got it but admin messaging ability was already taken away.? And I didnt realize digest people wouldn't get anything anymore until the
day I did it.? Lucky I did it then and I've tested that since and they dont get anything.

Unless you deleted the Yahoo group wouldn't it be simpler to post the message/invite to the Yahoo group? Preface with 'If you haven't already joined us at groups.io ' perhaps? Late to the discussion I know but just a thought.

I'm not suggesting that you got it wrong but the log will give you a much clearer picture. Bruce also made a good point when he wrote In my groups(s), behavior along these lines will get someone placed on permanent moderation, and possibly banned. If your member persists in doing the sort of thing you describe despite requests not to than IMHO he should have been put on moderation long ago. Chris |
Re: Missing Daily Summary Deliveries

If messages have been posted to the group, a summary should have been sent.
A few thoughts: 1. Double-check their email delivery setting to be sure it isn't No Email (i.e.: don't assume that they know it). 2. Have them check their spam/junk mail folders to see if they landed there. 3. Check if these people share the same mail provider, which may point to a common problem with that provider. 4. Have these folks check for bounces themselves at?/account?page=bounces. Bounces will not visible to you if they occurred with deliveries from another group. 5. Is it possible they have muted an ongoing topic/hashtag that's hogging all the group traffic right now? I admit I'm kinda shooting in the dark. Hope something in here helps. Bruce |

Missing Daily Summary Deliveries

Hi, Checking their Email Delivery History shows that they last successfully received a summary on 1/4, and there are no bounces since then. We checked a couple of other users who are also getting Daily Summaries, and it looks like they haven't gotten one since 1/4 either. |

One use that our group found very helpful with Display Name is to see respondent's vote in the poll results.?

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner
Problem continues!
Not going to Spam. I am set to individual messages and to Receive every message that is sent to [email protected]. Only one member is posting messages that I do not get, as Owner.. It is noticeable because he has been a frequent sinner in the past. As I said before I can put him on Moderation yet again. I suspect that he may have my e-mail blocked somehow so that no messages go to me. Would that do it? Thanks, Richard |

I didn't realize this was possible. You can keep non-members from posting to your group. See Admin>Settings>Message Policies, first checkbox. Uncheck the box and non-member messages will be rejected. This setting will not keep people who are already members from CC-ing the group when sending a message/reply to a non-member. But again, if you place such people on moderation then you can head off the side conversations before everything goes haywire. Bruce |

How to change the visibility of the archives / messages of my group
Hi,
Today my group is set with the " Archives are visible to subscribers only". I would like to switch to the "Archives are visible to anyone". Could you explain to me how to make this change of visibility of the archives ?? Thank you. Regards |
"Reply All" and "cc" issues
A member of my group recently sent an email message to someone not in our group, and cc-ed the message to our group, using our full groups.io address (something he has repeatedly been told not to do, but he persists!). The recipient replied using "Reply All", resulting in his reply being received by everyone in our group, even though the sender isn't in our group, and is not therefore authorised to post to our group. Not only that: all subsequent "Reply All" exchanges between group and non-group recipients were sent to everyone in our group. I didn't realize this was possible. This has raised security issues for us, which we clearly need to address internally. In the meantime I'd be grateful if someone on this forum could advise if it is possible to change the settings for our group to ensure we don't experience a similar breach in the future.
Many thanks Barry |
