If you are unsatisfied wiith the calendar functionality, you will have to post a feature request on Beta group. Mark monitors that. No one here is an employee- just members helping members.?

I guess you looked at the pages about calendars in the GMF wiki.?

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner

Have you checked to see if the only person's messages you receive is:
A subscriber who is sending messages to groupname+owner at groups.io
or?
A non-subscriber who is sending messages to groupname+owner at groups.io
Either one would be received by you but not sent to others except Moderators unless appropriate box checked by the sender.
Also, the message would not show up in your archive in the above cases.

Also, when you reply to those singular messages do you use the reply button on the message or reply at the group or how do you reply.

Some or none of this may help diagnose the issue.

Yes, they count against storage, /static/help#what-is-counted-towards-the-storage-limits-for-my-group? Some people have found that the storage limit mechanism isn't accurate right now and are taking advantage of attachments to gain extra storage.? Mark has said that it will be enforced 'soon', so there may be a lot of attachments deleted when that happens.

embedded pictures a nd storage limits

Someone in one of my groups asked about whether embedded pictures
count toward the group storage limit?

I can't see how they wouldn't but thought I'd ask. My understanding is
that whether it's a separate attachment or embedded in the message
it's still an attachment.

The question came up because I have the group set to resize photos to
either the lowest or next to lowest resolution setting to save on our
group storage space. The resizing mechanism on GIO does a poor job of
resizing and high res pics come out looking blurry. Smaller, low res
pics come through just fine.

I explained that if picture attachments fill up our storage space, we
can't upload new files until some housecleaning is done, and that
older pics will be automatically deleted to make room for new ones
once the limit is reached.

So, am I correct that an embedded photo is still like an attachment in
that it counts toward storage limits for the group?

Donald

In Admin, Settings, the second button is default subscription. The group subscriber can change it later if they wish but that will be the starting point ?

Technically, a member is someone that has a GIO account, a subscriber is someone that has joined a group.? We sometimes use them interchangeably, using member as a 'shortcut' for group member, but probably shouldn't unless surrounding information makes the intent perfectly clear.

The words are indeed used interchangeably. Their meaning (in the context of Groups.io) is the same.

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner

I have had the same problem, not receiving all messages sent, but only from one "member", AFIK.
I am the Owner.
I had my messages and e-mail (a Yahoo provider) settings as Mr. McMurtry showed, except that I had set the short list to messages sent by subscribers. The one member in question has been part of the Group for many years. I now have my Setting set to receive ALL messages but only time will tell if I now get.his messages when he posts something.

But it brings up the question of what is a subscriber versus not a subscriber. If only subscribers can post he must be
a subscriber. Curious also is that my missing his e-mails only started 6-8 months ago, and I do not recall changing my settings.
I've always been confused about subscribers versus members.
The Wiki seems to use the terms interchangeably

There may be several questions here.
Thanks,
Richard

Peter -- As Duane said, the Easy Group Transfer was a multi-step process. Simply paying the fee and initiating it doesn't get it done.

Anyway, that's all moot...Yahoo Groups has taken down all online content and that approach is no longer available. You will have to do it manually using the instructions already provided. As for your payment, send an email to [email protected]?to ask for a refund. Having already had nearly two months of Premium access your refund will probably be pro-rated.

Re: Not receiving copies of messages as owner

I have an idea how to solve this once and for all.? Why don't you join his group, have him make you owner, and go through all the settings and admin and other places to see what's going on?? GIO can be complicated.? You can figure it out.

This group is a user-to-user group, no one from GIO management here.

You've missed the boat.? The last transfers using the Easy Yahoo Group Transfer were on Dec 5.? There was a very specific set of instructions to follow and you didn't follow them (refer to /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups).? All you can do now is try to get any important information from your Yahoo Group before it's totally gone.? Then you'll have to figure out how to get it uploaded.? The best information is at /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Moving-to-Groups.io

The email delivery above: is ¡°receive all emails¡±

According to all of your settings, the messages will be sent to you, so they're either bouncing or being redirected, possibly to a spam/junk folder.? I'd check my Subscription on that group for the status of Email Delivery History, all 3 sections.? There may be a clue in there as to where the problem is happening.

Dan,

According to GIO, if someone changes something on their main profile, it will propagate downstream to all the group profiles, as long as that changed field hasn't already been customized:

/account?page=viewprofile

You can customize your profile for each group you are subscribed to. Changes made to your account profile will automatically apply to each group profile, with the exception of those specific fields in each group profile that you've previously customized.

After looking at the text above, it doesn't clarify if the customization will be preserved whether it was customized by the member or by a mod, so I was curious and did a quick test, and if the mod changes someone's display name or other profile setting, any changes by the member on their root GIO profile will overwrite the group profile, but if it was changed by the member themselves, it will not be overwritten ...?I learned something new today!

Cheers,
Christos

Re: different email settings for subgroups #email

>>>?Seems like if I want to have my subgroups have different email settings, I have to create a new group with different email settings and not try to use a subgroup.

No, you can have the same member have different settings between subgroup(s) and the main group. ?The first time you go to the main group, admin, subgroups, and add the members to a subgroup, they will inherit that subgroup's default subscription setting, which is Single if you haven't changed it. ?Then you have to go to the subgroup in order to change the member's subscription setting (using the same route, i.e. Admin-Members), not in the main group; that may be the reason you are thinking you cannot change stuff.

Cheers,
Christos

The message delivery for that account would be above the part you captured, in the Email Delivery area.

Do you have that subscription (email address) set to receive all messages from the group?? I still suspect something simple or others would be reporting the same type of thing.? Some services do delay messages now and then, but that usually shows up as a soft bounce (4xx) in your bounce history.
