Good query.

I have the samre concern, but it's wider than just .jpg images. Some of my groups have commercial or military instruction manuals which include line drawings and schematics. In fact, the very purpose of some groups is the sharing of very rare, old technical documents. Some, but not all, are .pdfs Does the image restriction also apply to images in .pdfs ? -John ======================== On 11/26/2019 2:10 PM, Larry McDavid wrote:

If the (blank) image is clicked, the file downloads to my Downloads folder. Thus, allowing jpg images in Files seems inappropriate if the image won't display anyway; in most cases you don't know what the image is. |

It only shows the day, not the time, so it won't show a 2 hour delay.
It was not moderated. Like I said, moderation is definitely NOT the issue. Definitely, absolutely not. Like I said, I bumped up the message to groups.io support. Consider this thread closed. I won't monitor this anymore.? Carola |

Thanks Bruce and Frances. Yes, I checked all settings and admin activities - nothing relevant there. I am ABSOLUTELY certain, this has nothing to do with moderation settings. It happened in several groups, for two different emails (I'm webmaster of one association the group.io group is for, administrator of the other), none of them are moderated, no flags are set, no hashtags were applied.
I sent a message to support and we'll see what they say. Carola |

ISIS,
To help with the download speed, DO NOT use WiFi.? WiFi cuts the speed by almost half.? Instead run the correct cable from the WiFi router to your computer.? Now you can download at much higher speeds. BMaverick |

And I assume that you have looked at Activity in Admin in Groups.io?

Photos in Files Section
One Yahoo Group successfully transferred to groups.io has many images in albums in the Photos section but also has some jpg image files stored in the Files section; these are *only* jpg images with no text. There is an option setting to Allow Photos in Files and currently that is checked. But, the image is not displayed in Files, though the image file is present. If the (blank) image is clicked, the file downloads to my Downloads folder. Thus, allowing jpg images in Files seems inappropriate if the image won't display anyway; in most cases you don't know what the image is.
I believe jpg images should be restricted to the Photos section and that the option to Allow Photos in Files should be disabled. But, I wonder if textual files with embedded photos would also be inhibited by disabling this Allow Photos in Files option. In that case, I wonder if the image would be displayed or if even the text file would be displayed. What file formats would display in the Files section? Does anyone know? Comments, please. -- Best wishes, Larry McDavid W6FUB Anaheim, California (SE of Los Angeles, near Disneyland) |

Lena, thanks, but it can't be moderation, I'm moderator of some groups, owner of some others, and the same problem appears for the groups that are explicitly set to unmoderated.?
Derek, that's why I posted here first, from the header analysis I wasn't sure where the problem was, and thus, which support to contact -- I'll contact groups.io support and see what they say. Thanks, Carola |

This looks like moderation. Simple as that. Carola, are you a moderator or owner on that group?

Re: #Delayed messages - again

Carola,
The 127.0.0.2 address would be internal to the server processing the message (in fact any IP starting 127 should stay within the walls of the device), so would appear to be at the groups.io end. There are plenty of reasons for this happening, some better than others. I would strongly recommend posting this to [email protected]?- it may be they have a misconfiguration and this may highlight it. Or you could just have been unlucky and the message was placed in a pending queue for some reason. It may be worth bearing in mind that however frustrating it may be, e-mail isn't guaranteed instant delivery, it's designed to cope with all kinds of transmission problems. Traditionally mailservers were configured to allow anything between 3-5?days before giving up and returning it as undeliverable! Regards, Derek |

You're probably right, you're smarter than I am.? Last night when I tried to post from our gmf, I got an error that said I don't have permission to do that, or some such, so I thought maybe this sounded similar.? But probably not.
