Sharon -- To be totally clear, it is not an option that you can turn on and off.

What happened is that this recipient's email service sent a request to groups.io to stop sending "messages like this." Rather than risk developing a reputation for sending unwanted emails, groups.io complied.

Sharon -- The question is:? Do you want to STOP receiving notifications that your subscribers have been removed? If not, then there is nothing to turn off.

If you want to keep this from happening altogether, the shortest answer I can give you is...you can't.

If you know please be specific because to be honest I have problems following a short explanation .? I would need to know go here look for this , click that
If you want to know what's going on, we have a wiki page for this kind of incident at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Removed-for-spam

It is not brief, but there's no way to give a satisfactory explanation in one or two sentences.

I had the same question when I first joined. I suspect you have to go to /g/<groupname>/editsub, which is *your* subscription and notification settings. Different owners and moderators from the same group can have individual notification settings.

The "notifications" are about halfway down the page. I'm just not sure which of the notifications you should disable.

The official help file says nothing about these settings:
/static/help#subscription-options

The GMF wiki page on this happens also does not say how you (the moderator) can turn off notification of when this happens to a user:
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Removed-for-spam

Re: Yahoo deleted our group

Yahoo had an evil ¡°delete this group¡± button in a location that was much too easy to access in error and was followed by a not terribly obvious <are you certain you want to delete this group> notice. Add a little distraction or cat on your keyboard and your group could go poof.?

Subject: Subscriber was removed for marking a message as spam

Hello,

This is to notify you that Krystalsplayground@... has been unsubscribed from your group [email protected] because a message to them was marked as spam. Note that this may have been done by their email service provider, not by the individual member personally. They've been given a link that lets them quickly resubscribe, in case this was an error.

To turn off this notification, log into and edit your subscription.

Thank you for choosing Groups.io groups.

Cheers,

The Groups.io Team

This is something of a stab in the dark, but you may be set up to only receive emails from topics that you follow in this group. Pat -- I should also mention that you have to be logged in under your ComCast address for any subscription changes to work. Pull down your name in the menu at upper right...if it doesn't show your ComCast address, you're logged into the wrong account. Log out and then log back in using the correct one.

Comcast issue

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have two emails, one is a comcast email, I use it as my backup for lists I own. I like to get digests to archive, and use the comcast email for that purpose.

I understand what you¡¯re saying ?but I think the group owners asking here have for the most part done their due diligence and are now frustrated to the nth degree because they don¡¯t understand something or can¡¯t find it.?

What is so wonderful about the volunteers at GMF is their patience and kindness and speed in answering questions asked by bewildered owners who are stuck on something. It¡¯s hard enough being in a new place after years or decades of knowing their way around. The last thing I¡¯d want to do is make them feel bad, like they didn¡¯t do their homework, if they post here.?

Re: Yahoo deleted our group

Yvette Money

This happened to a Yahoo group that I was a member of about two years ago.? The original group disappeared one day, so the owners created another group with the same name but the number 2 after it.? Many of the members found it when trying to search for the old group and migrated there.? The people who knew email addresses of other members sent out messages to those members as well to tell them of the change.? It wasn't a perfect fix, and many of the original members were lost but at least the group lived on in a new form.? The owners of the old group contacted Yahoo at the time and never got any answers.? The old group was never restored so all of the old, important messages were lost.? About a year ago the group was moved over to Groups.io due to all of the challenges with Yahoo and we have never regretted it.

Quite correct!? Thanks for catching that.? I was looking at it from the perspective of using the Donations page as opposed to simply asking for donations.

It's even fine to require people to be members of a dues collecting club before they can join the group.? Not too difficult for a small club (like mine), but could easily get very time consuming with a larger one.

If you open a member notice of type Group Guidelines, you should find a checkbox to that effect just above the editor.
The only options that I see are:

Notice Type (dropdown list)
Name (fill-in field)
Subject (fill-in field)
Email Subject (fill-in field)
Private (checkbox)
Send on join (checkbox)
Send monthly to group (checkbox)

There is no option to eioher include or not include Special Notices Only members.
