Re: How to view requirements

You probably need to use the Pending Member notice, /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Screening-New-Members-Using-the-Pending-Subscription-Notice? Be sure you have your subscription set to All Emails under the Owner Email section or they'll never get to you.

uploading a portion of a message to a file

Just transferring over, and I can't seem to find the answer here to this question:

If a message is sent to an io group, how do you upload the message, or a portion thereof, to a file?? I'm speaking specifically of recipes contained within messages.

No, to do a transfer, including messages, it would require a year of Premium.? The only other option would be if it could be a subgroup of an existing group that transferred, but that can get messy, /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Why-use-a-Subgroup

Re: Question: removing a member for spam?

Hello Sharon,
?
This can occur by the member marking something as spam, or it can be done by the members email provider.
?
There are two options of what to do.? Either the member has to move all those messages back to their inbox, or contact their email provider and try to have Groups.io whitelisted.
?
I am sure someone here can better explain why this happens than I can.

Oh by option I meant that IO group removed a member for spam . There is rejoin they can use . But Let us determine if soemthing is spam so we can address it to the group . How do you reduce the risk in a group that doesn't even discuss things that are questionable . We should be able to see what was said so we know not to let it happen

Actually, they are pretty much describing the same thing I am. But it is only happening in one group.

I clearly reversed the setting.

I couldn't find a 'Safe List'; only a black list, which would doe exactly what you describe. That's why I tried to create a rule that would hack around that.

In the hour and a half since I did that and asked the question here, I have gotten 8 quarantined emails from that group and 5 non-quarantined emails from 3 other groups, including this one. So obviously my hack didn't work.

I use a POP-3 email client where I can easily set my own spam rules, over and above what are built into the program, but Comcast is flagging that group's emails before it even gets to their POP-3 server. I can see the emails in the junk folder on an IMAP client or their web interface and can move them to my inbox, but I really (really, really) hate using IMAP.?

I guess I'll have to contact Comcast and find out why they don't like that group, since they don't seem to have a problem with the domain.

Dave

"Option"; which option are you referring to?

It happens quite a lot until members find out how to reduce the risk, if not eliminate it. And IMHO moderators need to know that it is happening.

Rosalee,

Possibly you are unintentionally distributing this virus which tempts the user to propagate it because of the fluttering butterflies. See

Two groups transferred into one: how do I undo this?

Hello,

I set up two new groups:
? Sony-MCI-Audio-Recording
? Studer

The transfer just completed, but both groups transferred into the Sony one. How can I go back and get the transfer redone? The two Yahoo Groups were respectively:
? Sony_APR
? Studer

I don't know if it was my fault (it might easily have been), and I don't care. The users are unhappy. Is there a way back?

I'm feeling stupid and apologetic for adding to your workload at this hectic time.

I also don't want to lose any of this data and I know time is short.

Second group to move

Eric Johnson

Our "management" is so impressed with the process and with the product that they want to move a group I didn't even know existed.

There are about 20 members and the real issue is the messages. There are only a few files that could be moved manually.?

Re: Rejected message due to classification as SpamVirusHigh bulk ratio or High-riskReference ID

I am not a techie so not sure. However I had to do a lot to your email before approving it. It was all formatted and also had the fluttering butterflies. I suggest you change your email formatting when you email groups such as this. Just regular normally works fine!

Re: Comcast issue

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

As well with Outlook recently, I am getting messages sent to spam.?? This had stopped for a long time, but has begun again.

All of Shal's messages through GMF they have started going to spam.? Of course having been here coming up on 2 years, I know to move those to the inbox before deleting.

Comcast (as well as Outlook) has an annoying habit of delaying emails from groups.io on a regular basis, but they usually show up in a day or so.? Do any of them ever show up for you?? Have you checked you email history on that group to see if they're being bounced?

How to view requirements

?
Hi,
?
As a group owner can you tell me how I can view the required responses to questions asked by the moderator before I approve a pending member? For instance I ask 3 questions Name, Location and reason for joining.?
From my previous Yahoo Group site responses would be in the email I receive requesting membership.
?
Thank you,
Janet_._

It certainly does look like that. I wonder how many actually come to the GMF web UI and have a look around and how many just fire off an email.

Repeat questions are unavoidable, but at least we can subsequently refer newbies to the wiki, where most of the canned responses lie.

No. As I said previously, you have to contact support to make such changes after you're already queued up for import.
