Once that list is approved, all the invitations will be sent.? Based on recent information, large batches like that may get a bit more scrutiny, but should be approved.? You may or may not run into the same situation when inviting more than 20 in the future.? That seems to be a variable that we haven't nailed down.

Re: Invitation sent from the group issue #addmembers #invitation

From our GMF wiki:

Why Can't I Invite More than 20 People to My Group?
Well, you actually can....but if you Invite (or Direct Add) more than 20 people to your group in a 24-hour period, you will likely receive this message:
?
You have reached the limit for number of invites that can be sent out without approval. Once your new invites have been approved, they will be sent out. You will receive a notification when this happens.
?
See https://beta.groups.io/g/main/message/7589 for an explanation of why this delay/review exists. Yahoo groups has a similar requirement, designed to thwart those who would set up a group and use it for spamming purposes. This "delay for review" applies no matter which plan you are on -- free, premium or enterprise.
?
To be totally clear, this is not a "limit"...you can send as many invitations as you want. However, there will be a waiting period while groups.io management reviews the list of invitees to ensure you are not a spammer. The remaining invitations usually go out within a few hours. If you wish, you can go to Admin>Invite and click on the "Sent Invitations" button at the top to check status (or wait for the promised email notification).
?
Generally, it's highly recommended that you send all your invitations at once. You can do this by uploading a plain text file (not CSV, not Excel), containing all of the addresses, one address per line (and nothing else). Or simply cut-and-paste all of the email addresses into the Invitations box.
?
There is no advantage to sending invitations in 20-person batches. Doing so will only incur additional delays.

Re: How Can I Export 1300 Members List from YG #yahoo

I have done this for a couple of groups with about 1200 members. The export function will give you the first 1000 emails alphabetically. Save the csv as groupmemberlist1 and note the last email address in the list. Then go back to the member list on the YG. Sort emails into REVERSE alphabetical by clicking on the small triangle next to the word Email at the top of the column. Then select all the list data from the z addresses back to where your 1000 list ended. Copy and paste into a spreadsheet such as Excel and manually go through and delete everything but the emails. Save as groupmemberlist2. Tedious but doable. Linda N

Invitation sent from the group issue #addmembers #invitation

After testing a small batch of invites I submitted a list of our Yahoo group membership for invitation, roughly 4,000 members, and received the?you have reached your limit message .? My fault for not digging into this prior, but I hadn't realized that there was a limit.? After searching the managers group I find it is 20 invitations a day.? I mean even Yahoo allows 100 invitations per day.? I am now faced with a 200 day long process for all of my Yahoo group members to receive an invite.? I'm hoping the list I submitted is sitting in a queue somewhere waiting to be approved, or did I misunderstand that as well?

Assuming it is in a queue and does eventually get approved, will that process affect my ability to send invites during that period?? Pretty much every Monday morning we have over 20 new members join our weekly meeting and I want to send them invites instead of them having to request access.

Regards,
? Mike

Re: Help with Yahoo group transfer - it appears to be stuck

I realized that out right after I sent that email. I completely missed that the invite had to come from the Yahoo group. My bad but why is there a member on my DogHealth2 group which I made a moderator? I can't figure that out. My son was helping me and maybe he sent that invite or is it part of the migration process? Also another member joined?irmautz@...?. Is this user part of the migration team? Last, I see our display name was changed yesterday "Dog Health <DogHealthGroup@...>?changed their display name from '' to 'Dog Health' via email"?but I didn't do that. Is that also part of the migration process? Thanks.

The instructions on the transfer page at?/yahootransfer?say the following:

3. Send an invite?from your Yahoo Group?to?[email protected]?(bold text in original)

Are you trying to invite the transfer agent to your group? If so, that will not work, and it's no surprise that the status page screenshot shows that no invitation has been received.

Hope this helps,

Well, you could have avoided it by not adding them in the midst of the transfer process.? Your only hope now is to contact [email protected], but they haven't done it for other groups.? That's why it's so important to understand the transfer process and follow the steps exactly.

Re: "Average Pace" of transfers

Dear friends,

My little group has moved!? A quick check shows that all photos and files are intact; based on message counts we may have lost 7 posts from my group's earliest years, 2009-2011, but I haven't investigated and might not. And frankly I feel like I got a bargain by paying $110 and choosing not to expedite.? The transfer seemed to go smoothly for members too.? In case this timetable is useful to others who're still waiting patiently in the queue:

Sat 10/19/2019 Alerted members of my group about Yahoo¡¯s plans and discussed options (Google groups. Groups.io, Facebook, plain email, dissolution).? People liked my description of Groups.io especially the ability to preserve ten years¡¯ worth of content.
Sun 10/20/2019 Created group at Groups.io.? Signed up for Premium and paid $110 (which doubled two days later).? Sent invitation for [email protected] to join our Yahoo group.? Heard nothing.
Thur 10/24/2019 Sent a second invitation to [email protected].
Fri 10/25/2019 Invitation was finally accepted.? (Whether it was Sunday¡¯s or Thursday¡¯s, I don¡¯t know.)? I swiftly upgraded [email protected] to moderator and gave the go-ahead for transfer.
Sun 10/27/2019 Finally progressed to step 3 of 4.? Place in queue #644.
Mon 10/28/2019 #633.
Tue 10/29/2019 #618.
Wed 10/30/2019 #584.
Thur 10/31/2019 #553.
Fri 11/1/2019 #543
Sat 11/2/2019 #521
Sun 11/3/2019 #504
Mon 11/4/2019 #455? (Wow!? Was #472 in early afternoon, rechecked at 6 p.m.)
Tue 11/5/2019 #363 (at 9 p.m., was #404 at 10 a.m.!)
Wed 11/6/2019 #197 (at 6 p.m., queue moving briskly!)
Thur 11/7/2019 #162 at 12:01am, #104 at 10 a.m., #89 at 1 p.m., #48 at 11 p.m.
Fri 11/8/2019 Transfer took place at about 7 a.m.
?
Caveats:
These weren't necessarily sampled at the same time of day, so they're only a rough measure of the daily pace.

Kudos to GIO, and..well, raspberries to Yahoo, my real sentiment wouldn't get past a moderator.

That is a profoundly unsatisfying response. With 58.33 hours notice we cannot somehow ¡°recall the missiles¡±? I don't think you can.? It might annoy those people, but they can do the same thing again after they're added.? There's also a link in the "You've been added email" they'll receive (assuming you asked for everyone to be notified) they can click on to be removed.? One click shouldn't be too annoying.

Cancel Member Transfer portion of Group Transfer #addmembers #transfer

Peter Holtzman

Hello,
I submitted a Transfer request a while ago, and only then was I let know there were 950 groups ahead of me with each group transfer taking roughly 10 minutes each, thus a waiting time of over a week!? In order to get the new group up and running I manually added all the members to the new Groups.io group and could afford to wait for the archives and files to transfer when they were ready.? However, there are a bunch of members that I transferred, who had over the years stopped being interested in the group and instead of removing themselves, just sent the messages to spam.? Now upon transfer they are doing the same which automatically removes them from the new group.? There are still 350 groups ahead of mine, but I definitely don't want to re-add them back to the group. I tried to uncheck the Transfer members checkbox in the transfer status page, but it is greyed out.? How do I request that the members are not re-added once Groups.io gets around to transferring my group?? Thanks for the help!

Re: How Can I Export 1300 Members List from YG #yahoo

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hallo Dale,

What I did a while ago was to export 1000 at a time.?
by Download what you can and save or pasting into a document or straight into the spreadsheet.?

Then going down the list and re-selecting the next 1000 yahoo group members, add that to the first save.? When you have them all there is? just a bit of fiddle to eliminate the overlaps.

OK,
Tony

Subject : [GMF] How Can I Export 1300 Members

Hello,

There was a mess up with my group transfer and I am not able to get help from Groups.IO tech support at this for whatever reason.

I can fix the problem myself if I could just Export all 1300 members in a CSV from Yahoo.

I went to Yahoo and could only Export 1000 members. It was in a CSV and easily converted into Excel, from which I was able to import or bulk add those 1000 members into Groups.IO.

My problem is how to I get the left behind 300 members? Is there a way to get the full list of 1300 members exported from my Yahoo group in a CSV style?

??

Owner-Moderator - new io groups

So... I just switched my groups from yahoo to io - and I am the owner of the groups... but I can't figure out how to get my new io groups to let me moderate. Can anyone help me? I am on my lists twice - once as Rafiki500@...?and once as pat@.... It keeps recognizing me as Rafiki (I am owner as pat@...) and I cannot moderate as Rafiki. It is sending me messages to the pat@ e-mail and I can reply to messages from "pat@" but when I try to go to "view this message online" for a moderator message it says I don't have permission to access that page.

How do I access my owner/moderator status so I can do moderator functions?

How to get a list of Yahoogroups group members (Windows 10)

[I've seen this question popping up now and then, and I'm not sure if there is a guide for it, so here's one man's take on the matter.]

==

How to get a list of Yahoogroups group members (Windows 10)

You need:
- Python 2.7 or 3:
-
- some way to grab cookies

When you install Python, make sure you select to add it to the "path" near the end of the installation process. It's best to select the option to install Python to its own folder, e.g. "C:\Python\", if you can.

In some browsers, you can click the "lock" icon next to the URL in the address bar to access the cookies. You need cookies for "yahoo.com", not "groups.yahoo.com". You need the value of the T cookie, Y cookie and (in some countries) the E cookie.

In some browsers, there may be extensions that can help, e.g. (for Vivaldi) or (for Firefox).

The easiest way to use IgnoredAmbience's Yahoo Group Archiver is to create a batch file (.bat file) in the same folder as the Archiver scripts, and run it (double-click it). If you don't know how to create a batch file, google for it (and google for unhiding file extensions, while you're at it).

Create this batch file and give it any name you want, e.g. getmembers.bat:

pip install -r requirements.txt
set tcookie="TTT"
set ycookie="YYY"
set ecookie="EEE"
set groupie="GGG"
python ./yahoo.py -ct %tcookie% -cy %ycookie% -ce %ecookie% -m %groupie%
pause

(Replace TTT with the T cookie's value, replace YYY with the Y cookie, and replace GGG with your group's name. Sometimes if you're in the EU, there is also an E cookie. Replace EEE with the E cookie, if any, or otherwise just leave it as EEE.)

If you run this batch file, the Archiver will create a list of members in a subfolder with your group's name, as "JSON" files, which you can open in any text editor by drag-and-drop.
