Depending on how large the files are, how fast the connection is, and how loaded the site is, it can take awhile to upload.? On many browsers, the "Sending request to Groups.io" is the only indication that it's doing anything.? On a few browsers, it will show the progress of the upload.

True, but if they join Groups.io with a different email address, it won't work as smoothly. Better to join with whatever they are using for YG and change the email address after if they wish.

If you have a main group plus subgroups -?

PGO doesn't provide direct MBox support. These are the options on the 'Export Messages' dialog:

We have used PayPal for donations for a very long time and I really like them. They have excellent customer service and very clear documentation. I don't try to get around the fees because they are providing a legitimate and valid Service. ?Of course, we should pay fees.

I was reading on another thread about somehow being able to use the groups while waiting for the transfer? Is there a how to message somewhere that explains that? I have my list of members (we are small, just around 30 of us) I just am not sure what to do and how to make sure GIO deletes duplicates, etc.

Our old messages are not of immediate concern but it would be great if we could get folks using our group now. We have been hovering around the 500 groups ahead of us for a while. We go down, then go back up again as people are expediting. Expediting is not an option for us but we should would like to start using the group itself if I could find a how-to-do-it. :)

I would like to preserve the content of the old Yahoo group and all I want is to transfer, but $200 is a lot of money for me.

I'm the Moderator of a group and today I've been trying to upload a
directory containing 9 files.

I click "Upload Directory" button in Files
The text box shows up.
I click Browse and click the directory and click "Upload"
I do not click "Notify Members" box. Do I have to click the "Notify Members" box to upload a directory to Files?.
I enter a brief description then click "ADD".

After a minute, nothing is uploaded. I see in the bottom left
corner of my monitor

"Sending request to Groups.io"

and still, nothing is uploaded.

I tried creating a new Folder.
The text box comes up and I enter the folder's name,
enter a short description of the folder then click "ADD"
Again, no folder is created and I see the same

"Sending request to Groups.io"

Is there something I'm missing here? I had no problem creating
a directory and uploading a file last week but not now.

If you have a free group, you would have to do it external to the group, via a third party such as PayPal.

There is no way to export them to MBox format? This will retain pretty much everything as Idid this when goign from mail man to io.

Maybe in PG Offline. I haven't tried that yet, but I do have all the messages visible in PG. I downloaded all my data from YG using their download tool. It gave me multiple folders for each group with photos, files and messages, but the Yahoo created two mbox files with about 1500 messages each... in other words two huge text files, not formatted into folders or individual files.

Can you?? check your old pre NEO account to see if you get medsages ther? And chevk to see if the message to owner went there or to another email account you have, possibly in spam?

Or other email addresses you might have used with the group?

Whichever account set the group up is owner unless you made a
new account owner

I can't see the membership list. I do have several other addresses, but I don't know if I used any of them to post messages. I know that I only used one address to start the group and manage it over the years.

I also chose not to expedite my transfer. I have over 400,000 messages and 10,000+ members. Almost 1,000 have moved over and I am asking people to just post on the new list. My transfer started around Oct. 28 so I am not concerned about missed messages that won't be transferred over.?
Right now, I am: Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 793 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Stage 3 of 4]

Slowly but surely? <grin>.?
