Re: Not Confirmed member (NC) behind member name
You might try sending a message directly to the address. Sometimes

message from Groups.io can end up in someone's spam folder or be ignored. I try resending the confirmation email a couple of times. I can't recall there is an error message in the Email Activity messages if this bounces. If there is a typo then sending a message directly will let you know. If it doesn't bounce then it may be that the person doesn't realize they have to confirm their address and are ignoring the messages. I've sometimes had to remind people several times, directly, to respond to one of the confirmation messages. Here is my routine dealing with this. - Resend the confirmation email a few times - At that point send an email directly to their address. - If this email bounces remove them from the list. - If it doesn't bounce leave them on the list and wait for their response. - Try again a few times and then remove them from the list and send them an invitation to join the list. They won't have to confirm their address with an invitation, since they will respond to the invitation in order to accept it and that will confirm that it was the correct address. Clarification regarding moving a Yahoo group to a groups.io subgroup
#transfer
#subgroups
Hello,
I successfully moved a Yahoo group here to groups.io. Now I want to move another Yahoo group over to become a sub group. Two questions: 1) Is it possible to move a yahoo group directly to the subgroup? I understand that they will be members of the main group too. Or does the group get transferred to the main group and I (or they) subscribe them to the subgroup? 2) What happens with this list's archived info? Can it go directly under the sub group and not be mixed in with the main group's archive (my ideal)? 3) If there's a way to transfer the second Yahoo Group directly to the subgroup, we're not seeing how to do it via the "Easy Transfer .." pages. Can someone walk me through this? Basically I'd love for this second Yahoo group to be self-contained as as a sub group, as much as possible. Just wondering what I'm able to do. Thank you! Jane |

Re: Notice of Pricing Change
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIt is a few years, definitely at least 3 or 4, that a friend and I tried to get yahoo to elevate my friend (who was a moderator) to owner and me to co-owner as new membership applications had to be approved and she couldn¡¯t do it. ?The owner had gone missing and totally ignored any attempts to get in touch with her.We never got any helpful response from yahoo at all and the group died. So yahoo ignoring the needs of groups is not a new thing. ?And absent owners and the failure by yahoo to help and support the memberships of those groups have always been a problem with yahoo groups. [email protected] e-mail address?
Hi All,
My first day posting here. Does the [email protected] address generate any sort of acknowledgement indicating mail sent there was successfully receiveed and in queue for an eventual response? I wrote approx 18 hours ago about a free to premium upgrade failure and am not sure what type of response to expect during this busy time. Thanks, Charlie |

Folks -- Appended below is the latest from Mark on the groups.io pricing structure.
Bottom line: the requirements for a Basic group will remain unchanged for now. Bruce Hi All, ?
Sometimes I reflect on my youth, and harken back to that simpler time, that quieter time. You know, seven days ago.
?
I appreciate all the feedback, and I mean ALL of it. My intention with the pricing change is solely to set up the business for long term success and to help offset the very large increase in my costs over just this past week.
?
I realize it was a mistake to talk about future changes to the pricing structure without actually, you know, knowing what those changes might (or might not) be. As part of that, it was a mistake to change the definition of a free group right now. I've rolled back that change; new free groups do not have limits on the number of subscribers and subgroups. Hopefully this will address Harm Selling's concern, among others. Also, this means that any groups that wish to move over but cannot afford the transfer fee can still take advantage of a free group's invite feature.
?
I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
?
Thanks,
Mark |

Re: Trying to add [email protected] membership for a migration yahoo to groups.io...
I know Cynthia, I am a little nervous. I sent the invitation 5 or 6 days ago and paid for the premium membership 2-3 days ago. Still nothing, and getting nervous as we get closer to Oct 28. I have over 10,000 members on my list and don't want to lose them.

Re: Delivery of Yahoo Group Messages
What I wrote in this case is not appropriate for general use. What I wrote is highly focused on a particular group and its transfer issues. Below is a more general message I've also used on some Groups I've transferred:

................ I have completed the transfer of ##### at yahoogroups.com to the new ##### groups.io email reflector and Group website. All the existing Yahoo Group membership names, messages, photos and files transferred successfully to the new club groups.io Group. You should have received an email from groups.io welcoming you to the new Group address. To send messages to your club members using the new Group, use this email address: #####@groups.io Please add the above address to your email addressbook and delete the old #####@yahoogroups.com entry. The new Group has a club Group website just as did the old Yahoo Group. Here is the new ##### Group website address: /g/##### I recommend you add this web address to your browser bookmarks. The functionality of the new Group is essentially identical to that of the old, about to vanish, Yahoo Group. You are still allowed to have attachments to your postings, though attached pictures will be resized to no more than ##### x ##### pixels. This is to conserve space on the groups.io server so we don't exceed the free Group service limit of 1GB of storage. Yahoo membership is no longer required to visit the ##### Group website. I encourage you to complete registration of yourself at groups.io by entering your email address and selecting a personal password at this website: /register Registration is free and this is a secure https website. As a result of the transfer process, you are already registered at groups.io but you have no password saved and cannot access some Group features. Be sure to use the same email address you used for #####@yahoogroups.com. Yahoo will shortly delete all our pictures and files. But, all these photos and files have already been transferred to the new groups.io club Group website. Please complete registration at groups.io, look around at the photos and files that transferred and ask if you have questions. ........... I sent this message to the members at the old Yahoo Group. With some editing that message may be helpful. Larry On 10/22/2019 1:30 PM, Earl Novendstern wrote:
