Re: Pleasse define the term 'fig-leaf'¨C was: Groups.io site updates #changelog
It means to hide the email address by removing everything after the "at" sign and substituting ellipses. Email addresses are still figleafed in the archived (i.e., web) version of messages, except for

Pleasse define the term 'fig-leaf'¨C was: Groups.io site updates #changelog
== == Hello again Shal (& All), Sorry for any bother, but what does 'fig-leaf' in the above-quoted text mean. It is obvioulsy being used here as a verb. I am asking because this is the first time I

Re: Groups.io site updates #changelog
I'll test that out. Could be just wishful thinking on my part. My point had to do with neither of those: I've never used Quote Whole Post (don't really like it), and selecting text before hitting

Re: Groups.io site updates #changelog
J, Note that this applies only to messages "that we don't think are replies to existing messages". I'm not entirely sure what you mean as intentional quotes but they probably still get the ellipses

Re: Groups.io site updates #changelog
Please call out any you find significant. Ok. It had turned out that invalid-email-address bounces (which are characterized as hard bounces and should go "red" and be logged immediately) were only

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Bob, I haven't tested it, but I think that's right. If you would want all calendar events to go as special notices I think you could set that attribute on the #cal-reminder hashtag. But you may not

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Paul, Sure, you can put a link in the event's Description. The question then is where you host the file. If it is in the group's Files section then members must be logged in to access the file. Shal

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Thanks Shal,? So I set a hashtag in each event(series) of (hashtg)Special to force the event to go to Special Notices only members, right? We were the ones who asked Mark to make NoEmail a group

FYI. Attachments in event reminders are on the TODO list (and have been for about 2 1/2 years ;>) https://trello.com/c/73Z7Xl0W/69-attachments-in-event-reminders Duane

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Bob, Event reminders post as ordinary messages, so they would go to all except those on special notices and no email. Members on Digest would see them in the digest. Event reminders have a default

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Thanks everyone for the place to go for the repeating announcement. I had never thought of the calendar as we've never used it in YG!. I'll look into this another day as I sent out the message

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Shal, Since message delivery is part of a calendar is there (somewhere) a list or, better yet a matrix of exactly who would receive calendar event notifications? e.g., would it go to * all members, *

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
I believe the Gio equivalent is to put your message into a repeating calendar event. Maybe hashtag #admin to set it apart. -- Jim Poston@... << All in all it's just a... 'nother brick in the

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Donald, In Groups.io you would do this with a repeating event in the calendar. Much more flexible delivery schedule than the scheduled files approach of Yahoo Groups. The key feature missing from that

Re: How do I set up a periodic message to a group?
Hi, One way (and this seems to be the most common one) is to create a periodic event in Calendar that specifies messages to be sent (as the body of the appointment) on a regular basis. Cheers, Joseph

Hi Doreen! No. The files area can only be accessed if you are currently logged in to Groups.io, and a member of the group. So the link would bring the recipient to a prompt to log in (unless the

Yes and no. As long as they're signed in to the site, they can click a link to it and get the file. If they're not signed in, they'll need to do so before they can get the file. A log in is good for
