Re: OH my lands AM I Mad
Any chance I can be owner and sole member of a group on groups.io? I could build my posts, hit send, they'd come to me, (same as being "saved") and then I could forward them. Would that be feasible? Would groups.io permit such? ~~ ![]() http://thequeensbs.blogspot.com? "Awake, CHAOS: ?we have napped." ?--E. E. Cummings

I use Gmail and like it well, but I do think the reduced diversity of available services is regrettable.
It may not be worth it for you to change.
But it might be worth it to have a second email address at another service to use for Groups.io and any other services you don't want to give your primary email address. If you decide to stay with Ymail for Groups.io I suggest checking your spam folder periodically, say once a week at least. Put a checkmark on any Groups.io emails in there, as well as anything else you'd rather have had in your inbox, and click the Restore to Inbox button. That should prevent future unsubscriptions, and help train Ymail not to treat group messages as spam.

There is which can be set up so you can retrieve it in an email program. Their web interface isn't bad but I prefer more control over my email and use Postbox to get my web mail. Thunderbird is a similar program but is free.

Microsoft has also. I can't say they're not sneaky though. Gmx seems to be the best of those however.

Re: OH my lands AM I Mad
It was such a stupid inconvenient thing. For months I had the Yahoo spam folder as the page that opened first and I could quickly see what shouldn't be there. But sometime over vacation, that changed, and I got caught unawares! In times past I have checked and done the "restore to inbox", you'd think it would be "trained" by now not to put 'em in spam folder. Thanks for reply. ~~ ![]() http://thequeensbs.blogspot.com? I suggest downloading notepad++ which is a free replacement for notepad. It has tabs available so you could use a separate tab for each message you need to compose. It has other features too but I don't think it formats your note text, at least not by default.

I'm kind of naive in this area. ?Wouldn't know what email TO get! Wouldn't know what's Verizon or ATT or Yahoo hosted. And so laborious to change since I've had this one for well over 30 years. It's full of folders and stars and saved photos and such. Any recommendations? I hear Google is sneaky. Thank you for advice. ~~ ![]() http://thequeensbs.blogspot.com? Best to trust your own backing up, instead of only something else's.

Composing online is vulnerable to losses caused by unexpected crashes, premature posting, and/or other mishaps. It is always safest to compose emails offline, saving frequently. I suggest using plain text, such as Mac's TextEdit. I think NotePad is the PC equivalent (PC users, please verify or correct this). Avoid word processing applications - especially MS Word as it uses special character coding that can result in unwanted formatting, and/or gibberish instead of apostrophes, slashes, etc. When your message is ready to post, copy and paste it into an email, address it, then send. I agree about the draft messages in email program but mine won't accept clipart as easily as groups.io does, and groups.io has the very handy features of editing! Still haven't figured out the trigger for slipping them into my spam folder. No one at Yahoo answers queries. Thank you, though! ~~ ![]() http://thequeensbs.blogspot.com? Email subscribe to subgroup
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI want members of the restricted main group to be able to subscribe to a restricted subgroup via email. However, sending an email to [email protected] just does - nothing. MainGroupUser does not get any response, and there is no activity in mysubgroup. It's like the mail simply disappeared without a trace. Tested with a gmail and gmx address. MainGroupUser can however post to mysubgroup via email. MainGroupUser can subscribe to mysubgroup via web, and also unsubscribe via email. Is there anything I missed? |

psb b,
Because some dumb feature of groups.io that unsubscribes meIf you were removed for marking messages as spam, received the "resume" notice, and followed the link to resume your subscription, then I would report this to [email protected] It is likely too late for those you had, but arguably resuming your subscription should retain your drafts. Amanda, you don't say if you have a basic (free) account or not.? It wouldn't matter. The same rule applies to Premium groups, for both Invite and Direct Add.

The messages in my groups are datestamped, but not Timestamped...why?
Dear all.
I don't understand why messages are not timestamped by default, or if you can even have that function at all. Clearly the email I recieve in my inbox is timestamped, but not on the website, and as a group manager, that's where I do all my work. I note that the messages are numbered, which is of no use to me. I need the time they were posted. Is there a way to switch this on? Kind regards Simon |
