Re: Database Rows

Just after I sent the question I scrolled all the way down and noticed the number in the right lower corner, but I didn't catch the moderator in time and it posted.? Thanks for the second obvious answer as well.

Re: I am unable to see any of the Admin Functions logging into the group I created.

First of all, make sure that you are logging in with the email address that you used to create the account.?In Groups.io, your email address is your account ID.

But if the label where you are finding the registered members is "members", then you must be logged in. If it says "directory", then you aren't getting on as an owner or moderator with permission.s

Others may have more advice - but see the GMF wiki - the URL is below.

I am unable to see any of the Admin Functions logging into the group I created.

W5UHQ

For instance I see only 4 of 15 members.

I tried to retry those that did not get registered properly.

I can post to the group and read replies from the 4 that show up under
members.

How do I enter new email members....there is no Admin tab for me to change anything.

Re: Database Rows

the only way is the integer showing row count prior to next time you open the database.
If you delete a row and then add a row, the id increments by one, so the max ID is almost never an accurate row count

Only if no rows have been deleted, so won't work in this case.

Provided that the settings allow it.? See /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Databases for details about the database settings.? There are also settings in the group Settings page that apply to databases.

Hi Jenny,

All members can access the database page and all members can add and edit rows.

Re: Database Rows

If you click on the IDHeader it arranges in numerical order. Is that what you want? The bottom line ID should be the row count.

The are a couple of ways.? On the database page, before you open one, it will have a column stating how many records there are in it.? If you already have it open, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the lower right. where the "next page" button is.

Re: Move messages/threads between groups / subgroups?

Frances,

?
Any update on this?
?
Nope. If there were I would certainly have called it out in one of the #changlog messages.
?
?
Also, I see in other threads that a suggestion that a moderator can move a message to a subgroup while moderating a message?
?
Again no. That may have been made as a suggestion (hopefully in ), but again that would be big news in a #changelog message.

Re: Move messages/threads between groups / subgroups?

Hi

Any update on this?

Also, I see in other threads that a suggestion that a moderator can move a message to a subgroup while moderating a message? If a group is moderated (or non-members can post but are moderated), can the moderator move it?

Just wondering.

Re: Message History

Hi everyone!

I am coming back to this because I have just heard about a reason for removing old messages. If you have a change of the group makeup - new committee, for example - and you may think that the chitchat should be eliminated when the new group is selected or formed. I read that you can delete whole topics, but not blocks of messages in several topics. That might be useful in this case. Closing the account and starting afresh would work, but too drastic. Also some may need saving in a subgroup or in database or wiki.

I looked at Premium, but I don't think that this feature is available there either. That would be a possibility for some groups if it were.

Any more thoughts? Worth bumping to Beta that Mark monitors?

Re: Please share your database use-cases #database

Jenny, it was Charlie that was asking about the tie up. I did not try to link the member list with the database. I presumed there might be coding that could be done, but I am too ignorant of the language used by to know. Also dont know why fields cant be added to the members list so we dont have to duplicate it or if someone? has asked for that of the development?team.

Re: Out of Office Replies

Thank you Shal.

I couldn't figure out exactly why I got several Out-of-Office replies from that person. It was odd because I think that I'd only replied to one post that day (which was not his). I've never gotten any other OOO replies on GMF; this was a first. Thanx for the explanation.

Even though they were mildly annoying it was easy enough to just delete them.

Hi Marie, can you explain more? Do users add tags to the ?Db of things they like/dislike in a way you ban report on it? Or send emails that are appropriate to those tags?
