Moderating Posts Based on Filtered Words
Marcio
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi,Is there a way of accomplishing this? Suppose that I have a word (or phrase) on a blacklist. If a member sends an email containing this word/phrase, whether in the subject line or even the message body, it would be moderated automatically, waiting for my aproval to make it to the public. Is it possible at all? As always, thanks a lot :)

Re: MX records from Dreamhost to groups.io
#email
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf what you want is to move your
present list operations to groups.io, there is no simple way to do
it, and certainly not by changing the MX record settings.
The MX record on your analybandwagon.org domain points to the mail server responsible for accepting email messages on behalf of your domain.? You cannot change this to point to groups.io, as groups.io is an email list host, not a mail server - these are two completely different functions.? If you make any change to your MX record, you will very soon start receiving no mail at all. For each list you currently have at Dreamhost, you need to set up a corresponding list at groups.io, then add all the existing members to this new list. Bill On 7/23/2019 9:42 PM, Michael Ost wrote:

Pending Notices and the Applicants response.
I have religiously been following this, obtained from the GMF wiki: .
"Screening New Members Using the Pending Subscription NoticeNOTE: This option is only available to Restricted groups. See Admin>Settings>Spam Control. The Pending Subscription Notice is one of the group Member Notices (see /static/help#membernotices).?It is sent automatically to anyone who applies for membership in a restricted group. It is not sent to those you invite or direct add.*The notice marked "active" is the one sent; if no notice is active, none is sent. Some groups use this notice to ask a series of questions of applicants in support of their application; responses will go to the group owner address and be recorded in the member¡¯s page under "+owner messages."Send a Pending Member Notice asking prospective members to introduce themselves or to answer your questions.?If you wish, you can resend if they don't reply within 2-3 days.?If they don't reply to the second probe either or don't meet your criteria, reject their request." I am an owner of our Group and until recently, when a potential new member responds to a Pending Notice, it went into the '+owner messages' with an email sent to me.? For some reason, I receive an email from xyz providing the required information but it does not show under the '+owner messages'.? I do not remember changing any of my settings, has something changed within GIO? Looking forward to the usual sage help! Regards -- Peter |

.MOV File Storage
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI had a member send an email with three files as attachments to the group, which is fine since we accept attachments. One file was a 3.97 MB .jpg, one was a 836 KB ,jpg, and one was a 7.92 MB .mov file. The two ,jpg files are in Emailed Photos, but I can¡¯t find any sign of the .mov file except in the email with the other two .jpg files. When I go to Billing/View Attachments, I can see that 13 MB (3 attachments) were uploaded. Where would this .mov file be stored if I wanted to delete it? ? Don |
MX records from Dreamhost to groups.io

Michael Ost
Hi groups.io experts, ? My non-profit has a website hosted at Dreamhost (www.analybandwagon.org) . We¡¯ve been using their mailing lists for years but would now like to manage emails with our abw.groups.io account. That is, we don¡¯t want to redirect all of??to abw.groups.io; we want to keep the website but we just want emails sent to?SOMEONE@...?to get handled by?[email protected]. ? I came across something called ¡°MX Records¡± which sound like just the trick:?. Supposedly they can allow me to route emails without having to change all DNS lookups. ? Do you know if this can work? Do you know what MX record settings I would use for abw.groups.io? ? Thanks in advance! ? Michael Ost ? |

Re: Wiki instruction or tutorial
note - I have no issue with setting up a ToC on a wiki page, so let's not go into the weeds of using a ToC vs not using a ToC.
. But, I noticed today that the Table of Contents tags on our wiki page no longer jumps down to the associated header on that page.?? Each ToC line now operates as an?exteral link?and now opens a NEW WEB PAGE (oriented at the associated header location.) Has anyone else noticed this??? Was there a change in how the ToC operates (or have I lost my mind?)??? [issue also raised on the Beta group] |
