Re: Searching for activity by a former member
Is there a way to search for activity in a group by a member who unsubscribed? On Members - Banned enter the email address of that unsubscribed member, click Ban User, then search in Activity, then on Members - Banned check the checkbox at the left from that email address, Actions - Unban. |

I totally agree with what you are saying, but would draw your attention (in case you've missed it) to the fact that users can if they so choose quote the message to which they are replying, regardless of whether they do so via the web or from an email client (as I do), but you yourself seem to choose not to do so. Some inconsistency here? Jim Fisher On 14 Jan 2019 at 10:12, Alexis wrote:

Re: Getting everything as Spam.
I would also add that your @aol.com list member should include the list email address into their Contacts section in AOL as well.? I have an AOL email address, and I have not had any of the issues your list member is reporting.? I suspect it is due to her not having your list's email address in her Contacts section, as well as not managing her Spam folder correctly in AOL (i.e., not checking it regularly, and marking any legitimate emails as "NOT SPAM", which sends a message back to AOL to NOT black list those emails/domains.)? So, make sure she checks her Spam folder daily, and any groups.io emails that land in there need to be marked as "NOT SPAM", which will reinstate the to her Inbox.? VERY important step.? She does that enough, and AOL will get the message, and stop directing your list emails to her Spam folder :-)

Re: Searching for activity by a former member
I think you can also go to Activity, All Activity and search for either the display name or the email address. Don't specify an Activity or a Date. That should show if the unsubbed member was active in the group.

#howto [un-ban someone]

Keith Muscott
I recently banned someone from my io group because his email address looked dodgy and his?application was not run past me by io in the first place. He just appeared on there as a member, without posting.
After I'd?emailed him directly offsite to identify himself and got no response, I banned him after four days' silence. I have checked my SPAM folder today and his genuine reply had been diverted there. This is the first time I have?had a single individual's email relegated to SPAM. Anyway, he is a genuine applicant, I see now, but when I attempt to reinstate him all I get is 'this member is banned' I've tried to use? another email address of his but that too is being rejected. Is banning?someone a permanent deal, then, or can I lift the ban in some way I haven't discovered?
?
Thanks for any help

Hi Bruce, The owner did not respond to my suggestion of using rescale. ?? Posting a huge file to squeeze out the older files is a very good thought. ?I'll try that. But perhaps I'm over thinking this. ?When our limit is truly reached (yes, I've noticed a buffer), will groups.io automatically begin dropping the oldest attachment? ?Or could it start deleting album photos and other stored files? ?Is it simply a first in, first out scenario? As you have pointed out, deletion is inevitable. Upload (or email) a big file that puts you over quota. Wait for groups.io to delete the older attachments. [Note:? This does not happen in real time. I have no idea how long it might take.] Delete the big file, thereby freeing the space. I don't know of anyone who has done this, but if it doesn't work, then I'd have to say there's something very peculiar going on with how groups.io manages storage.? I have noticed that there appears to be some "grace storage." Roughly 1.4 GB seems to be the actual cutoff, at which point Basic groups will no longer accept further uploads. Perhaps the extra 400 MB is a buffer to keep your group going until groups.io actually gets around to trimming off the old stuff. But that's total speculation on my part. We have the basic plan, so perhaps this feature comes with an upgraded plan.Unfortunately, no. The only thing Premium does is give you more space, thus delaying the inevitable. Re: Getting everything as Spam.
The issue here is not so much getting messages as spam, although that is the symptom of another problem.
The = sign is not part of his real address which is just his username@.... Checking the subscriber list I find that his address is as above. Somehow it gets added, probably by Groups.io. Overnight, I asked him to delete himself, let me know, and I would Invite him. Result is unknown at this time due to time zone difference. Thanks, Richard |

Is it possible to rename the "Emailed Photos" album - for example "2018 Emailed Photos" - or to move the emailed photos to another album? In short, no, and sort of, in that order. Where a group has attachments enabled the attached material is automatically stored in the Emailed Photos album which is the default uneditable name. Moving emailed photos to another album is not possible directly in the same way as uploaded photos can be moved from one album to another; there are two possible solutions: firstly a Moderator can download the (emailed) photo, and then upload it again to an album of choice in the normal way. However, this method (which is a bit tedious) assigns the ownership of the photo to that moderator unless the moderator takes the trouble to reassign ownership to whoever emailed it in the first place. Secondly the originator can be asked to upload it to whatever album is appropriate, subject to the correct accessibility permission being set up to start with. A variation of the second method is for the originator to upload it to a new album, after which a moderator can move it to whichever album is deemed most suitable, after which the "new album" can be deleted. Moving a photo from one album to another does not reassign ownership of the photo. Chris |

It's a special case...if you were to move them, they would no longer link up with the corresponding messages. Given that the Export Group function does not work for attachments, your only option is to download them one-by-one to your computer and then bulk-upload them as duplicates to a folder of your own creation. Instructions for the upload can be found in the GMF wiki. Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Deleting Attachemnts

Good Morning,
Our group has a 1GB storage limit which can max out quickly due to large photo attachments. The only way I have found to delete attachments is by the route Admin > +Upgrade > View Attachments, selecting the email and deleting it. Then I have to start all over again - a one by one process which is very time consuming. Does anyone know of a batch process that can speed things up? We have the basic plan, so perhaps this feature comes with an upgraded plan. TIA, Patrick |
